Why are Republican candidates afraid of black people?

Following a page from the national GOP playbook, nearly all of the Republican gubernatorial candidates refused to show up Saturday for the NAACP debate.

African-Americans make up more than 20 percent of North Carolina’s population.

Republicans would rather ignore 1.1 million African-American voters than address concerns about education, health care, jobs, and safe communities.

Republicans have no trouble pandering to special interests. But they can’t look black voters in the eye and tell them they will govern for all people, not just those who look like them.

Then Republicans complain that black people won’t vote for them.

Maybe it’s because a Republican redistricting lawsuit threatens to pack minorities in districts and dilute their vote and representation in the General Assembly.

Maybe it’s because Republican State Auditor Les Merritt trumped up unsubstantiated cases of voter fraud to stop legislation making it easier for people to vote.

Maybe it’s because Republicans favor harsh voter ID laws because they want African-Americans to stay home on Election Day.

Or maybe Republicans are just afraid.

Good for Judge Orr

The only one of the threefour with the courage to show.

That probably means he has no chance in hell of winning the primary.

"Keep the Faith"

Yep. No chance.

Orr hasn't learned the fine art of Republican extremism. Plus he's too smart to be embraced by the fringe primary voters who will choose the R nominee.

Orr favors making it harder for citizens to vote

Orr does, however, favor the voter id laws that Republicans use as part of their voter suppression efforts.

I hope he got asked about this at the debate. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he could explain here why he supports legislation that would come between Americans and their right to vote?

Why are they afraid?

Republican free-market extremists need a permanent underclass they can exploit in order to make more money. They see themselves as morally superior to those they dominate in the marketplace. It's not surprising they try to ignore what they perceive as hired help.

Republican free-market extremists need a permanent underclass they can exploit in order to make more money.* A

Other possible reasons?

1. They can't dance?
2. They can't jump?
3. They can't rap?
4. They can't duck fast enough at a drive bye?
5. They can't speak ebonics at Oakland City School Board meeting?
6. They believe the term " Brother" is something that one of their family members did centuries ago?
7. They believe the Black Panthers cause the Tiger attack on the innocent white youths at the San Francisco Zoo.
8. They believe Black churches cause their own church fires when they use coal fire stoves?
9. They believe the local Police has been bought off by the local drug dealers?
10. They believe Teddy Kenney is a black man trapped in a old fat white man body and can only talk to Obama for help?

Do you folks use Digg?

I digg....

Could someone please explain?

Please explain to me what "Digg" is. I've seen it and am baffled by it (and anything else current in online maneuvering).

Any truth to the rumor that

Fetzer Stephens has abandoned Bill Graham and moved on to Pat McCrory?

I hear Patty McHornry team is backing off from his sinking ship.

I guess they all figure all the crap he's trying to hide is going to surface and ruin their futures. No one is going to want to have the Patsy McHorny name on their resumes.

Michael Aaron Lay

Well our friend Michael Aaron Lay did a plea deal for election fraud in McHenry's name, and he still works for Graham.

When Fetzer Stephens quit the team, Lay made a statement about how their were no hard feelings.

2 billion dollars for Wind Power...so that we can burn domestic natural gas in our cars...I think.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
