A Pre-Election Robo Monday

I rarely post.
But damnit, I am tired of today's Campaign Calls!

Clinton, Obama, Besse, Wiesel, Hagan, Ruth... ARGH! There have been at least 6 today and it is only 1:15!

A Pre-Election Robo Monday
(whoa-oh-ohh)
I wish it was next Sunday
(whoa-oh-ohh)
They'll get theirs some day
(whoa-oh-ohh)
Until then I will just say
(oh)
It's A Pre-Election Robo Monday

(apologies to the Bangles)

Wiesel and Besse here so far

Today's the only day I'm answering them! :D

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

So far ...

it's kind of fun. Well, different, anyway. But I don't usually get many phone calls so it doesn't really irritate me. yet.

My tally so far, including the messages left when I didn't answer:
One Obama.
Two Clinton, plus another from Bill. Cool. But I'm still voting for Obama.
One Besse. (Besse himself, not an anonymous voice.)
One Dalton.
Two Wiesel. (Added to a previous robo I got Saturday or yesterday, can't remember, that's making the irritation meter jiggle a little.)

I haven't even tracked the days before..

But I can recall a few Hillary ones, from her and others. Yes, Bill called today but wouldn't be quiet long enough to let me get a word in.. so there goes that vote. (heh.)

Domo Arigato, Mr. Robocall.

Psssst....Grace

You're not supposed to talk back. :D

I got a couple last week in response to Richard Moore's ad. I think Alma and I know Harvey. I'm sure we've gotten others, but I just can't remember. Union County isn't a hot bed of liberalism, so not many calls here. :(

heh. yeah, I caught myself

looking for an opening to do a, "Yeah, but ..." when Bill said something about Hillary being ready on day one to fix the disappearing jobs situation. :) Too bad I couldn't call back and leave a message.

Two Clinton robocalls....to my cell phone.

Somehow the Clinton's got my cell phone number, dang it.

You must have put it on a list somewhere, Robert.

Didn't you get one from another campaign on your cell phone last week, too?

Me Too

Wiesel has taken the cake so far, one at home and two to my cell phone. I haven't given out my cell phone number for political things in years because it's not a local area code to where I live now, so where ever the political data miners pulled it up from is a mystery to me.

I'm thinking Facebook is to blame.

Or, maybe email mining.

ooh - I bet you're right.

I bet it is facebook.

I Feel So Left Out

No robocalls for me.

Though, I can guess why that is...

There are people in every time and every land who want to stop history in its tracks. They fear the future, mistrust the present, and invoke the security of the comfortable past which, in fact, never existed. - Robert F. Kennedy

You're really a Republican?

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

is Indiana a big state and NC is a small state?

I never use to understand the comments about Clinton s being divisive and triangulating.

--now I see it every move she makes... "indiana was so close and I won!"" NC is a small inconsequential state"
I have a good friend whose husband voted for BO. and She is going to vote for HC. And no matter what I say, she says that shows that HC is a good fighter and could beat McCain. I told her that I would rather lose the election with Barack than with Hillary, because I feel like we should have known better if we lose with her...and this way we might move the country through some good lessons, discussions, advance the cause of democracy.
I see little convincing data to show who is more electable.. Is there?

But for once in my life I feel free to vote for whom I respect a bit. no compromises, i am optimistic that NC will count. Please.

Keith Olbermann Speaks to That Point

Classic Olbermann

It's why I tivo his show. I watched that bit three times. By halfway through the 2nd time, we were laughing so hard we had tears streaming down our faces. It's so true.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
