Another John McCain "Senior Moment"
John McCain called his "fellow Americans" his "fellow prisoners." As sad as it is to think that McCain's time as a POW is still so present with him, it is also frightening to think that he is completely unaware of what he said. There is an extended version of the video that shows he does not go back and correct himself. This man is not fit for office and it isn't his age, but the combination of that, his health, his life experiences and his temperament.

I think he's imploding.
It's sad to watch. And it's scary to think that he could make it into the White House with "that woman" as his VP.
A friend floated an idea earlier today - maybe his plan is to get back at the Republicans and purposely lose. "You bastards, you screwed me in 2000. I'm going to really screw you now. I'm going to make sure that your worst Democratic nightmare gets elected. Ha. Screw You, Karl Rove!"
I dunno - it's funny to think about.

You'll notice THAT WOMAN heard it.
She gave him a serious grimace and double-take. When THAT WOMAN thinks you can't talk well, you are in big trouble.
John McCain looks like a guy whose head you can barely see over the steering wheel...looks like the guy who thinks the nurses are stealing his stuff. 'Dad, why would they take your socks? It doesn't make sense.' Letterman

I think I just busted a gut.

A Smut-Filled Tome
Fear and Loathing
During the debate last night I was trying to figure out why Sen. McCain continues to display so much angst towards Sen. Obama. The reluctance to look at him. The grimacing smile. The depersonalization when referencing him. Some commentators last night attribute Sen. McCain's mannerism as a result of his dislike for attack politics. I had a different take.
I thought that something about Sen. Obama reminds Sen. McCain of his captors while he was a POW. If so his demeanor while around Sen. Obama makes sense. And your video post makes would support this theory.
Interestingly, the possibility of POW flashback was raised during the last campaign by Swift Boaters. Paul Galanti a POW in Hanoi who was in the Swift Boat ad said that John Kerry's pronunciation of the name Ghenghis Khan caused a flashback to the "Hanoi Hilton". "I was back there again" Galanti said.
President Clinton has raised the specter of POW anger at their captors never being checked. Such a possibility was dismissed by McCain while never admitting that he ever was angry at his captor.
Interesting
But there's pictures of McCain embracing his actual captors several years back. And I have no idea why Obama would remind him of them.

Ideas
Thin. Darker complexion. Lecturing. McCain has to look up to him. Obama, like McCain's captors, is in control.
Pick your flashback trigger.
What Biden said....
He said that he has debated John for a long time and when he's being dirty, which he doesn't like to do, he will not look you in the eye and he'll not call you by your first name. That was his take.

It's a common characteristic when people are lying to you too.

First Debate
McCain acted the same toward Obama in the first debate. He wasn't being too dirty at the time. Biden is just covering for his friend Flasback John.
Do you think that McCain perhaps feels as slimey
as who he has become?
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
