Arlington South
There are no words that can adequately convey the pain of losing a child to the harsh realities of war. It is a pain that Summer Lipford knows all too well and that George Bush will never know. Her determination to honor her son, and all of those lost in the Iraq War, came to fruition as she was able to construct, "Arlington South" in Statesville, NC at a park only a few blocks away from where her 20 year old son was laid to rest. She's faced the worst a parent can face and she isn't afraid to tell anyone who will listen how she feels about this war, our elected officials and the depth of betrayal she lives with everyday. It was a priveledge to be in her presence and an honor to witness the courage of her words and the purity of her love.

Thanks for posting
I'm glad Summer was able to get some closure. Her story is a difficult one and I hope she will eventually get all the answers from the military.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
Thanks SD...
It just didn't seem like I could let the day end without posting something and having never posted anything before, it (with my son's help) took me a while! And yes, her story is a difficult one and quite powerful. To say we were moved is certainly an understatement.
