The amazing Ashevillein has posted this map illustrating the location of the proposed Diesel Power Plant (in red) and the direction of the prevailing winds (black line).

This puts pollution from the plant right into booming west Asheville.

Word on the street is that Rep. Susan Fisher and Sen. Martin Nesbitt are livid at the Buncombe County Commissioners for taking this unnecessary, sneaky, harmful step. Other behind-the-scenes machinations are also at work, and your emails, phone calls, and letters to the editors are making a difference. Keep 'em coming. We'll send this Diesel power plant to an early grave just like we did the Bush forest selloff.
