Fayetteville, a city that pays half the dues of the others, and is not part of the power agency (i.e. has debt) gets a member on the Board to be paid $12,000 a year for 20 hours of work - pretty good per hour wage, I'd say.
Out of control antics have plagued ElectriCities since its inception. In 2001 Pat Stith's News and Observer article pointed out that things would get worse before they get better and examined the excessive spending by the CEO as well as the payments Board Members receive at this government entity. Well, things are worse.
