Libertarian Party opposes Marriage Discrimination Amendment

NC LIBERTARIAN PARTY URGES NORTH CAROLINIANS TO VOTE AGAINST AMENDMENT ONE

Raleigh, N.C. - The North Carolina Libertarian Party today declared its formal opposition to Amendment One. The state's third-largest party is encouraging its members, as well as all other voters, regardless of party affiliation, to vote against the constitutional amendment on the May 8 primary ballot.

J.J. Summerell, chair of the North Carolina Libertarian Party, declared the Libertarian Party’s unequivocal opposition to Amendment One.

David Work: Counterfeit Avastin

The first of (what we hope will be) a series of guest columns by David Work.

Earlier this month the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published a revealing article on the sale of Counterfeit Avastin, a drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help in treating colon cancer and some other conditions. It is a fact-filled piece of 2,000+ words assembled by their reporters Christopher Weaver, Jeann Whalen and Benoit Faucon that chronicles the maize traveled by a completely phony drug. The bogus Avastin may have been manufactured in China and went to the Middle East and Europe to the United State with possible stopovers in Barbados and Canada.

McCrory announces DE-VOTES plan to privatize elections

CHARLOTTE, NC – “Money wants to be free, and corporations are people, too, my friend,” said Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory. “It is a new day here in North Carolina. We will finally bring industrial efficiency to democracy."

In an appearance introduced by Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers as “the best thing to happen for Big Power in decades,” Mr. McCrory today unveiled DE-VOTES, his new proposal to permanently privatize public elections. Standing before a flock of reporters at Duke Energy’s headquarters, and flanked by an army of attorneys from Moore Van Allen, the full-time candidate for governor said it’s a win-win-win-win situation.

“DE-VOTES is a four-way victory,” he said. “I win, Duke Energy wins, big money wins, and government haters win. As a result, taxpayers will no longer have to pay for elections. Instead of going to polls located at schools and churches, citizens will cast their votes in person at Duke Energy offices or online through DE-VOTES.com. And the best news of all? Duke Energy will say who gets to vote!"
