An Open Letter to Hillary Supporters Vowing to Vote for McCain

Right after NC's primary, I felt bitter, betrayed, and like all my work had been for nothing. I felt silenced, like my voice, and the voices of everyone who voted for Jim Neal, would be ignored going into the general election. So Hillary supporters, I get what you're feeling, I really do. And you need some time -- time to grieve, express your anger, and come to terms with the fact that the primaries didn't return the results you worked so hard for.

Didn't mean to be gone so long

Got a lovely viral parting gift from my former employers, and it knocked me out for a couple of weeks, but I'm back now.

Building a Campaign from the Ground up: When you close your eyes, do you dream about me?

You know you're serious about a campaign when it seeps into your dreams...

Richard Burr in the running for #2 spot on McCain ticket?

WRAL is reporting that Burr would accept a veep nomination from McCain.

Jim Neal at HKonJ

We were there because Jim supports HKonJ. He supports the People's Agenda, written by and for the people of the state he would represent. Unlike Elizabeth Dole, who supports the people of... the Watergate? That's where she spends all of her time, anyway.

Reminder: Unaffiliateds Can Vote in NC's May 6 Primary

In talking to a couple of friends today, I realized that not everyone is aware that unaffiliated voters can now vote in our primary.

Building a Campaign from the Ground Up: When Real-Life Attacks

Jim Neal's Campaign HQ Grand Opening Last Night

One of the many reasons I really like this guy - a good friend of mine's boyfriend has purple hair (this week) and a pierced eyebrow. Jim walked right up and shook their hands, didn't bat an eye.

Building a Campaign From the Ground Up: Getting up at 5:30am to go to SEC Dems Meeting in Hamlet

Ninety percent of volunteering is just showing up. Even when that means rolling out of bed at 5:30am on a weekend and freezing your butt off while planting yard signs in a dress.

Building a Campaign From the Ground Up: Ongoing, Plus an Invitation

After the ecstasy, the laundry -- or at least the carrying in of heavy boxes. Also, a few things the office could use, and an invitation for BlueNC.

And Helms begat Reagan...

Arguably, Ronald Reagan's Helms enabled win in the 1976 NC primary was all the encouragement he needed to try again in 1980, setting the stage for the Reagan Revolution and synergistic escapades like this one...

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
