The Conservation PAC endorsed in contested races that have candidates with good environmental credentials.

Equality North Carolina Secures Hospital Visitation Protections

But, for LGBT people, visiting your partner in the hospital can be a nightmare. Under NC law, you two aren't married and you're not blood relatives. So, basically, you don't have a legal right to participate in key medical decisions involving your partner's care, you have no legal right to receive information about your partner's condition, and you may not even be allowed into your partner's room.
Equality PAC Endorses Moore for Governor
Submitted by MikeNelson on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 11:00am.Equality PAC, North Carolina's state-wide organization working to elect candidates who support fair and and equal treatment for the LGBT community, has issued endorsements for the upcoming primaries. In the all important Governor's race, Equality has endorsed State Treasurer Richard Moore.
“Treasurer Moore has demonstrated leadership in standing up for fairness in state government and is committed to fighting discrimination as Governor,” said Ian Palmquist, the group’s Executive Director. “We are proud to support his campaign.”
Environmental Scorecard Results Are Available Now!

The Conservation Council of NC has released it's environmental scorecard for the 2007 session of the General Assembly. Of particular interest are the "Dirty Dozen" and the "Filthy Five," legislators with basement level scores and who nearly always side with polluters over people.
