Do we need a new coal plant in NC?

Help.
Duke Energy is building a new coal plant in North Carolina – in a time in which solving global warming is the most urgent issue to solve. We can request public hearings across the state to re examine the mercury levels and other pollutants.

What is NC doing to improve health care access?

Apparently, the national conference of mayors took a position on single payer. this is further evidence that the tides are turning.

Help the next Governor candidates learn about the death penalty moratorium

The NC Governor's race is crucial to criminal justice politics in
> North Carolina since the elected Governor has the power to issue
> clemency when an execution is scheduled, grant a pardon to a
> wrongfully convicted exoneree and he/she can ultimately declare an
> official moratorium on executions. Regardless of who wins the NC
> Governor's races tomorrow in either party, please call each winner
> and say the following:

Death Penalty

So what do our NC candidates say is their positions on the Death Penalty
Who supports the moratorium?

Who says death penalty is helping keep our prison population down>?

Justice at Smithfield

Next Monday is International Human Rights Day, and Justice@Smithfield supporters plan to commemorate by drawing attention to human rights abuses at Smithfield's Tar Heel Plant. Working conditions at the plant rank among the most brutal in the United States, and, in years past, were even profiled by the international watchdog Human Rights Watch.

Can we save the Renewable Energy Bill? Help S B 3

THREATS TO -- Senate Bill 3, Promote Renewable Energy/Baseload Generation, has been referred to the House Energy and Energy Efficiency Comm. 2 billion dollars for Wind Power...so that we can burn domestic natural gas in our cars...I think.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
