If you remember, today it's been 64 years since the invasion of Normandy, and the eventual liberation of Europe from Hitler's Nazi regime. How appropriate that in the same week, we find out the Democratic nominee is ready to free us from Bush's Regime. Talk about history repeating itself..........

Thank a vet today, you'l feel better for it.

Long Time - No Post

It's been a while, and I've been a bad boy for not keeping up with everything as I should have. A number of "life events" have pretty much occupied my time:

Change in occupation (voluntary)
The impending birth of our first child (and everything that goes with that)
Edwards poor showing in the primaries (that pretty much put me off politics for a long while).

But now I'll try and keep up my sarcasm and hopefully pass on some tidbits that I find in the corners of the tubes. Take this for example:

Another One Bites the Dust

Like rats deserting the good ship "Mess-o-Potamia". Gonzales RESIGNS. Pass the popcorn please!

Walter Jones has an idea

I guess Rep. Walter Jones is feeling his oats. Go here, or I can quote:

I would like to suggest...that maybe we give Paul Wolfowitz a new job and send him over [to Iraq] as mayor," said Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C., "since the neocons got us in over there.

Go figure.

This is Supporting the Troops?

There are few things that make my blood boil more than Bush and his "high crimes and misdemeanors". And this is the worst:

What's in your wallet soldier?

This story tells how a Ft. Bragg soldier's wife is getting the hand while her husband is deployed in Iraq. This is why I dropped Capital One years ago . As a side note, I found it via the Consumerist blog that does a fantastic job of showing the common person how to get the most for their money (and avoid rip-offs). Happy hump day!

2 billion dollars for Wind Power...so that we can burn domestic natural gas in our cars...I think.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
