It's coming down to the wire!
You can expect more ranting from Vermin, so now is not the time to let up and think we have it won. Contact you friends and neighbors and set them straight. We don't need someone like Vern 'representing' us.
Jim, Thanks for posting this.
You are right. Vernon will not let up. He will just keep at it and it is going to get worse. I hope everything goes well tonight. I won't be able to attend but I'll be hoping for the best. If you get a chance stop in tomorrow and let us know how it goes tonight.

Sanity
You all have helped me keep my sanity if there is any left. SD, I told you in an e-mail yesterday that the vermin had sent out a mailer to the African-American community that Brad had voted against the African-American colleges. I didn't know at the time that two years ago he had critized his opponents in District 5 for supporting the African-American colleges. I don't know at this time which one he was lying about, but if he is true to form, he was lying about both. He is a dangerous person.
Brad rocks Raleigh
First off, let me just say, this was the first 'big' event I've been to and it was just incredible. Rubbing elbows with people you normally just read about in the paper is something to remember.
We (my wife and I) got to speak to several candidates for judgeships, among them Paul Ridgeway and Roger Koopman. Both seamed to be stand up guys and excellent candidates. We were also fortunate enough to speak with the wife of Judge Rozier, (and forgive me, but I can't read my writing so I can't tell you her first name). If the judge is half the person she is, then we are indeed well represented and need to keep Judge Rozier on the bench. But on to the headliner.
Congressman Miller made some short remarks about how change was needed in both NC and the Congress and how he is working to push anti-predatory lending legislation. Too many people in NC are taken advantage of daily by un-scrupulous lenders. Another topic, which is 'near and dear' to me, Brad talked about his work on the House Science Committee. I learned that his committee has oversight responsibilities for NASA. He went on to say how, and this will make Chimpy choke, politics needs to be removed from science. Global warming anyone?? Scientists should be allowed to do their work and present their findings, free from political input or 'oversight'.
Brad only briefly commented on Vermin. Just a mention about where most of Verns money is coming from and how badly his views are out of step with the majority of people in NC. There was a very hysterical moment about a Vermins 'distaste' for Episcopalians...
All in all, a great night. We had wonderful hosts and everyone couldn't have been nicer.
I'm jealous....that's all....jealous
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Great report on the event. I do wish I could have been there.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
