Gildan Actionware has told 500 hard working Mt. Airy residence that their jobs have been moved to Honduras. Thanks Robin Hayes your vote to pass CAFT just keeps on giving. 200 will work their last day July 31, and 300 will lose their jobs August 31. I hope Robin Hayes will have his last day on the job after the next election. GO "LARRY"

Every single cotton pickin' (and non-cotton pickin') person who has lost their job needs to 'Just Say NO to Robin Hayes'.

I feel a Hulk moment coming on.

I am sooo tired

of our politicians worrying more about other countries then about our own.
From a politicians point of view who votes for these AFTAs,

what is 500 jobs when we have 300 million people of which less then half are in the work force. so 500 lose there job out of 150 million is a drop in the bucket. Here we are "helping" the central american countries by giving them 500 new jobs and it is not really hurting us. Those folks will easly find new jobs, we are the land of prosperity, we have to help those less fortunate countries.

What you are voting for is allowing cheap labor for the company. It is cheaper to send two or three truckers down to honduras then it is to pay the 500 workers to produce that same product in this country. With AFTA protocals, we cannot tarrif, tax, etc these products, thus the profit margin for the company is greatly increased. More greed and our politicians allow it. These same politicans are getting money for reelections if they continue to vote for AFTA style legislation.

If I was in charge of this, every AFTA program would be abolished where provisions to encourage equal and appropriate wage payment is not performed. If a worker should be paid $8 an hour to make that product, but it is being made by workers that are only getting paid $3/hour, then that difference must be made up before the product comes into the country. Same with everything else that goes into that product.

While our nation is a nation based on free trade for its economic growth it should not allow jobs to be moved to hondoras because the product would be cheaper to make their and then allow that product to compete against US products here in the states. If this continues, what is going to be produced in this country for us to make a wage to buy all these cheap items made by the AFTA? I have to beable to work to buy these products correct?

Free-trade means we should all be freely trading like goods and service across borders without paying taxes, tarrifs, etc on these goods and services. But the other side of free-trade is the workers must be paid comprable prices for the work performed on these products or that is not free-trade.
