Calling all Democrats - get organized at your annual precinct meeting Tuesday, March 11th at 7:30 PM

North Carolina Democrats will be meeting all around the state at exactly
7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 for their annual precinct meetings.

This is a great time for all political activists to help organize their
precincts, and to spread the word about the candidates they support for
elected office. Organized precincts with leadership turn out more
voters, and that could only help your candidates.

For the first time in as long as I can remember, NC Democrats will
actually have a role in picking our party's nominee for President. We
are expecting record turnout for the May primary, so don't let this
chance slip through your fingers!

But only organized precincts can send delegates to your respective
county, US Congressional District and the State convention where the
national convention delegates will be elected.

To be an organized precinct, you must have a quorum of at least 5
registered Democrats, elect a chair and a vice chair - one must be
male and one female - and elect a full slate of delgates from your
precinct. And this year, the Wake County Democratic Party will offer training for
precinct officers on how you can get your precinct better organized to
turn out the vote - and it will incorporate the "Constructing Victory" -
an exciting computer-based program for outreach and precinct
organization from the NC Democratic Party and Governor Dean's 50-state
program.
