Calling all Southern Iraq War Veterans!
I'm beginning a documentary on the Iraq war, its Veterans, and the effects of the war on the troops when returning home. I would like to interview Veterans from the Iraq war and talk with them about why they joined the military, what were their thoughts about the Iraq war before they went, and if those opinions changed after returning from the war. My goal is to show the war, what inspires Americans to enlist, and how their views might change or evolve after joining by letting Veterans tell their own stories. We are looking to interview Iraq Veterans from the South since we are located in Alabama. We can film in the following states: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky. If you are an Iraq war Veteran in any of these states and are interested in doing an interview please contact me.

A gal that works with me is an Iraq war veteran
now suffering from the Iraq War Syndrome....was given those Anthrax shots, Vaccine A with the adjuvant squalene added. She suffers many, many of the symptoms, aching joints and muscles, fatique, diarrhea, nausea, head aches and so on and so on. Even though it has been pretty much proven that the squalene was the cause, the military still refuses to admit their mistake (ok, military....duh). I will see if she is interested. Couldn't you add NC to your list of states?
Also, are you aware of our Veterans Day special on April the 19th? Anglico is spearheading this and calling all vets to tell their stories.
Good luck with your documentary!
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

I asked
Ava to crosspost this from kos. I know we have a lot of veterans that both post and lurk, and I thought we could help out.

Ava is wonderful!!!
Check her out on CNN. She's 16, folks, and has been vlogging on the war since March 2005. WOW. She's my role model for sure. You go, girl. Seriously, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

Hey, Lance, I wanted to vote to promote this
to the front page but I can't seem to do it anymore. Did you drop that option with the server change or am I having more of my typical browser weirdness?

Nope, it's gone.
It's been gone for a while, actually -- we turned it off when we were having memory usage issues with our old host. I'm working on a "recommended blog posts" block as a replacement, but I need more data for testing purposes -- so go vote on stuff! :)
wow
darn impressive.

You might find some more veterans there.
I featured some of Ava's works last year
in a few posts. I absolutely love her work.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
From the South
Damn, I just signed up for this thing because I didn't read it fully and thought you were looking for veterans stationed in southern Iraq. Anyway...good luck with your project and keep me posted on it.

If that's possible, and join the conversation if possible. Your perspective would be absolutely cherished and unique.
