CBC Debate

Just a real quick heads up. To SD, Robert etc: Dont make this into an open thread and front page.

John Edwards is once again first. This time he is the first to pull out of the CBC debate on Fox.

I wish I knew why they are doing this, but then, even Jesse doesnt know.

"We just called the CBC to let them know that we're looking forward to their January debate with CNN but we're not going to participate in the proposed debate with Fox. The CBC champions critical issues that matter enormously to the future of our country, and we look forward to discussing them throughout this campaign and at their debate in January. But we believe there's just no reason for Democrats to give Fox a platform to advance the right-wing agenda while pretending they're objective. If there was any uncertainty as to Fox's objectivity, it was put to rest when they attacked Democratic candidates, Democratic constituency groups, and the Nevada Democratic party when their last proposed debate was cancelled for lack of support."

Saw it at TPM and expected it

not surprised in the least. If they pulled out of the Fox/Nevada debate why stay in the CBC/Fox debate? It wouldn't make sense. I'm surprised that the CBC agreed to a Fox debate.

Some one help me out

hey ....

how'd you do that? (the music notes)

P.S. In case it hasn't been posted yet, a new poll has Edwards the favorite Dem in NC.

In a survey by Public Policy Polling, Edwards leads the field with 39 percent of the vote against the leading candidate, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) who came in second with just 25 percent.

P.S.S. If I already posted this at blueNC somewhere else, please forgive. I've been sprinkling it liberally everywhere the past 24hrs.

This is good news.

Of course, all the Edwards POLITICAL news has been good since December. It's only the personal news that has been tragic.

As a Catholic on Good Friday, you know I can't forget Pandagate/Bloggergate ;)

Aside from that (and Obama entering the field), he's had pretty good news.

He gets praise for this move

at ColorOfChange.org.

ColorOfChange.org today praised presidential candidate John Edwards for rejecting the proposed FOX / Congressional Black Caucus Institute debate – and urged other presidential candidates to follow Edwards’ lead.

. . . .

ColorOfChange.org – a 75,000 member online citizen lobby for Black Americans – led the fight in recent weeks urging the CBC Institute and presidential candidates to reject FOX. FOX’s smears against the Black community are compiled in Outfoxed director Robert Greenwald’s new YouTube video called Fox Attacks: Black America – located at www.FoxAttacks.com and viewed by over 250,000 people.

I think his moral compass is working very well.

I agree completely

I was happy to see that he remained consistent and didn't alter his previous decision about Fox.

A little behind the ball

But Obama has also dropped out of this debate. Good for him!
