Coming to a campus Near You
Coming soon, to a campus near you, Campus Camp Wellstone. In 2003, just months after the death of Senator Wellstone, the Wellstone Action center was started. Its mission has been to educate progressive activists on how to organize grassroots campaigns.
Wellstone Action has sponsored Camp Wellstones in 29 states, training 9,300 people in the nuts and bolts of effective political action. Since 2004, 35 Camp Wellstone graduates have won elective office and thousands of others worked on campaigns or issue organizing efforts.

In late March, the college Dems at NC State and UNC will be hosting a Campus Camp Wellstone. The campus version is a modified version of the normal camp, designed to speak to college kids about organizing.
The training will be held in Raleigh, on March 30th and 31st. The training will be about 12 hours of instruction on how to be an effective grassroots organizer. I will be attending, in large part because the closest Camp Wellstone to North Carolina coming soon will be in Lexington, which is a little far to drive.
I am not sure about how to register for this, I just emailed the head of the college dems at NC State to do so. But, I know there are college age people reading this, who may not have heard of this. I understand that registration is $10, let me know if you need contact info.
If you are unable to attend, the website contains many of their training materials, or you can order Politics the Wellstone Way

Our children need to know that some people fought back, when others collaborated.
Thankfully
It doesnt start till 3pm on a Friday. But if you are coming from out of time you might need to skip to make it.

No.....I knew it was a silly question the minute I typed it
but I posted it anyway....because I'm stoopid like that every now and then.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
I got my copy of
"Politics the Wellstone Way" in the mail today. It has passed the first big test of a books usefulness. Lots of space along the margins for note taking.
I quote,
For all the budding precinct chairs out there, this might be worth adding to your reading list.
