Monday News: Delusional

DAN FOREST BABBLES SOME RELIGIOUS NONSENSE ABOUT DEMOCRATS: “You see it on issues like climate change or the Me Too movement or Black Lives Matter or gun control,” he continued. “Name the issue today, the fervor has reached a religious pitch in America. Why? Because it really is the religion of the left.” Real societal and cultural change comes with changes in character, Forest argued. Referencing a push for more gun restrictions, Forest at one point noted that God punished Cain — and not the rock — when Cain used a rock to kill his brother Abel in the biblical book of Genesis. The left, however, “they don’t have a hope in God," Forest said. "They have no hope in a higher power. They are hopeless. They truly do believe that, but for the government, but for the work they do, there’s no hope for America. So, it’s a dangerous place to be.”

ICE USES FLIMSY PRETEXTS TO ROUND UP UNDOCUMENTED IN ORANGE COUNTY: The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to WRAL News that the agency has detained 25 people across the Triangle this week. An immigration attorney said what is most troubling to her are the circumstances surrounding some of those arrests. Members of El Centro Hispano, a Latino advocacy group, say 10 people have been detained from apartment complexes in Hillsborough, Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Maria Ramos said her three brothers, ages 18, 24 and 30, do not have criminal records. But Monday morning, ICE arrested them in a Chapel Hill mobile home park. Immigration attorney Evelyn Smallwood said the practice of arresting non-criminals who were not the original ICE targets is new to the Trump administration. “ICE is doing things that unfortunately they are allowed to do, but just because they are allowed to do doesn’t mean that they should,” Smallwood said.

TRUMP BUSINESSES RAKE IN THE CASH FROM HIS CAMPAIGN AND PRESIDENCY: President Donald Trump’s U.S. businesses have received at least $15.1 million in revenue from political groups and federal agencies since 2015, according to a new report to be released Monday. The money went to Trump’s airplanes, hotels, golf courses, even a bottled water company during the presidential campaign and the first 15 months of his presidency, according to a compilation of known records of the spending by Public Citizen obtained by McClatchy. But it was Trump’s campaign itself that spent the biggest chunk by far – about 90 percent, or $13.4 million. Before he was sworn into office, Trump eschewed calls to fully separate from his business interests. Instead he placed his holdings in a trust designed to hold assets for his “exclusive benefit,” which he can receive at any time without the public’s knowledge. He also retains the authority to revoke the trust.

RUSSIA STILL BLOCKING INSPECTORS FROM SITE OF CHEMICAL ATTACK: A senior Russian diplomat says the mission from the international chemical weapons watchdog cannot access the site of an alleged chemical attack near Damascus without an appropriate U.N. permit. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was responding to questions on Monday on whether the team from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has been blocked from going into Douma, the town where the attack allegedly happened. Ryabkov says the mission wasn't allowed in because it hadn't secured the approval of the U.N. Department for Safety and Security. His remarks indicate what could be an attempt to bog down the OPCW team. At least 40 people are believed to have died in the attack on Douma, until the weekend the last rebel-held town outside the Syrian capital. The OPCW has dispatched a fact-finding mission to Syria to investigate.

TRUMP ENAMORED OF HIMSELF OVER IDIOTIC USE OF "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" IN TWEET: President Donald Trump on Sunday defended his use of the phrase “Mission Accomplished” to describe a U.S.-led missile attack on Syria’s chemical weapons program, even as his aides stressed continuing U.S. troop involvement and plans for new economic sanctions against Russia for enabling the government of Bashar Assad. In an early-morning tweet, Trump said the strike was “perfectly carried out” and that “the only way the Fake News Media could demean was by my use of the term “Mission Accomplished.” He added that he knew the media would “seize” on the phrase, but said it should be used often. “It is such a great Military term, it should be brought back,” he wrote. Bush addressed sailors aboard a Navy ship in May 2003 alongside a “Mission Accomplished” banner, just weeks before it became apparent that Iraqis had organized an insurgency that would tie down U.S. forces for years.

Well...

Taliban Dan is fresh out of his Christian "men's retreat" in the mountains.
Need I say more...?

BTW Dan, it probably wasn't a rock

None of the accepted versions of the story actually mention what the murder weapon was, but the most likely is the knife Abel used for sacrifices. That was also behind the "why" of the killing, because Cain was jealous that God looked favorably on Abel for making those sacrifices. Plus, it was pre-meditated.

But the bottom line is, gun control advocates aren't trying to "punish" guns, and only a certifiable nutcase would consider guns a "victim" of misplaced anger. Sheesh.
