BlueNC Women on Wednesdays - Open Thread

Welcome to BlueNC Women on Wednesday or WoW. Posts will go up in about an hour or so. Here is an open thread.

For all you designers out there I have a proposal. We want some type of banner to introduce our posts. We could have a large banner for the initial open thread and a thinner banner to use for each post that is a part of WoW - much like the "breaking" or "exclusive" banners that we sometimes use.

We can gather all submissions and vote on them. If we have too many good submissions we might just alternate and use them all.

Join me below the fold where I have a wee bit of fun at Robin Hayes' expense........

Now, why do I pick on poor ickle Robin Hayes? What has he ever done to me, right? He isn't even my rep. Maybe I should cut him some slack.

We don't have time or space today for me to detail the many transgressions of Robin Hayes. He's a weak-kneed, spineless, privileged bully and I won't rest until he's working full time at that "textile" mill he owns.

Yay for WoW!

I've been looking forward to this for two weeks! Plus it gives me time to polish my next entry . . . a deeper look into Bob Orr's Pope Problem. As you saw yesterday, the good Judge has gotten himself into a pretty ugly pickle. He doesn't like being one of Pope's Puppets, but cutting the ~~purse~~ strings would be a fatal blow to ~~Pope's~~ his political ambitions. Can't live with the Puppetmaster, can't live without him.

Hey....did you see Ed Cone gave Gregflynn props for predicting Wright would be the next to fall? I saw that last night. I highlighted his work on linking Sue and Ann over at my place and am getting a lot of hits on that, so he's shining a nice bright spotlight on Sue Myrick by linking her to Coulter.

BlueNC like above, but replace the star with one of those circle with the arrow thingy that symbolizes women. Women on Wednesdays spelled out next to it....can it be pink....naaaa, that's way too close to Red.

saw nothing wrong with it till I read your comment....now I'm trying to see something symbolic and suggestive...guess if your mind was in the gutter (I keep a mind washer close to hand), there could be something in the "O" where it tops the "W". Other than that, I think its a GREAT banner!

I had hoped to have some material to cross-post for WOW, but I got sidetracked yesterday. Thanks The Southern Dem for the invitation to participate...I certainly plan on taking you up on the offer before too long.

I've already pushed the limits

of my design skills. This is a PowerPoint file turned into a picture, which is the full extent of my graphics capabilities. We'll need a whiz person to take it from here.

I have photoshop at home.

I'm having an emo day at work (dropped lunch on floor, went for overpriced buffet instead, have remains of spilled food on clothing which was JUST WASHED) and I want to go home.

Or, anyone can freely download and use The GIMP, a free open source image editor. If you already know pshop, GIMPshop is a mod of GIMP made to mimic Photoshop's look and feel.

Also, that banner is about an inch too wide for the posts field on my screen ( 17" tube at 1024x768 )

I haven't checked with Firefox on my Dell. I can make it a bit smaller. I think it looks beautiful!

I haven't downloaded GIMP. I have photoshop on my other computer and just used it. I don't want to buy it for the Mac since I have it on my PC. I didn't know GIMP was free. Will give it a try.
