According to Public Policy Polling’s latest survey, Brad Miller is within striking distance of Elizabeth Dole if he were to challenge her in 2008. Complete results will be online shortly.
THE RESULTS
Dole 44%
Miller 33%
Undecided 22%
Instant Analysis: Dole is below the 50% danger mark for incumbents. While Miller’s support still has plenty of room to grow amongst Democrats and African-Americans. It’s an uphill battle, but he would be competitive.

The OLF results
seem like a bit of a problem for the NO OLF movement. They'd be great if it were up for a vote, but a 15% margin isn't the tidal wave of public opinion I would have expected to find on this point. (Who are those 32%, anyway? Is there a PRO OLF group besides the Navy?)
Has there been other poling on this issue, and has it showed something else?
think about it
If you knew nothing about this issue, and had never heard of it. If you saw "Navy's plan" would you be in favor or opposed? Now imagine you are a retired veteran from Winston Salem. With no other information would you be in favor or opposed?

22 reccs wont be enough to get on the recc list this afternoon. Since MyDD was so quick to put it up, maybe someone on the front page at kos will pay attention.

Kos took notice
But people should go REC BLUE SOUTH'S DIARY anyway.
I always wanted to be the avenging cowboy hero—that lone voice in the wilderness, fighting corruption and evil wherever I found it, and standing for freedom, truth and justice. - Bill Hicks
I had around 36 recs the other day
all fairly quickly and didn't get rec'd. Sucks, don't it?
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Perspective
From Senate2008guru:
I would add my own perspective:
in May of 2005, Burns had a 24 point lead. Burns spent about 9 million to Tester's 5.
In December of 2005, Allen had a 31 point lead. Allen spent 17 million. Webb spent under 9.
Oh, and Casey got outspent 28 million to 18 million.

Blue South you are doing an amazing job
promoting Brad. Once we start our campaign to get him more name recognition across the state and people check out his service history, he'll beat the biddy easily. Won't it be nice to have a Senator that actually represents North Carolinians?
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
