Congressman Heath Shuler has a secret admirer . . .

and it's none other than Republican Carl Mumpower.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But really, Carl, did you have to steal the stars and bar design right from your congressman’s website?

Congressman Shuler’s website has been up since 2006: http://www.heathshuler.com/

Here’s Carl’s freshly-minted website: http://www.mumpower08.com/

It’s going to take more than a design ploy to trick voters into thinking there’s no difference between Congressman Shuler and Carl.

But the choice is clear: Congressman Shuler stands for restored accountability in Washington, cutting subsidies to Big Oil, and making medication affordable for seniors.

No they are different firms. I imagine Mumpower will either fire the guy who ripped off the logo, or he specifically asked to have a Shuler style logo.

Since copying the Shuler logo would probably take more effort than making an original one, I'm guessing Mumpower wanted to mimic the logo. What I wonder is why.

I hope you don't mind, but I co-opted this post somewhat @ ScruHoo. I can't believe that we didn't notice this, but hey, sometimes it takes a different set of eyes, ya know? Good catch.

It is interesting that Mumpower would try to jack Shuler's design, but then again Teh Mump isn't exactly known for his subtlety. I say it's a coincidence. But that's just me.
