American Prayer : Sunday Morning Open Thread

British musician Dave Stewart created a video for "American Prayer" a song he wrote with Bono. He introduced it at Huffington Post as An Anthem for Change

Regardless of what happens in November, Senator Obama has reminded millions of people that they have the power to connect to bigger ideas. He is, in essence, the embodiment of a new anthem for change. He has continued King's narrative from what was once thought of as a dream to a reality. I find it especially relevant that Barack Obama will accept the Democratic Party Nomination for President 45 years to the day of King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

Good morning from Denver

The change in altitude and complete and total lack of humidity is doing a number on me. I overheard a few other people saying the same thing. I didn't go out partying like may of my younger cohorts and I'm headed out this morning to make up for it.

Good Morning from Raleigh

What better place to be than Denver right now?

I can feel the excitement all the way back here in my humid cloister.

You're in for a lifetime thrill, so make the most of it and share it with us as best you can.

Bru'

I will do my best

We have a great team here with Graig Meyer, Gray Newman, Phillip Gilfus, Terry and Mark and I'm sure other delegates joining in to share pictures and their thoughts and feelings.

Heading to get credentials. I'm hoping everyone else is hungover so the line won't be long. :D I know. I'm bad.

This American prayer started my Sunday off with a smile

Hasn't campaigning changed since I was little! Betsy, Gray, all of the rest of you in Denver, remember while you're taking it all in, the rest of us are sitting on your shoulders. Lots of pictures, please! Lots of video!

don't you worry

There will be more than you can imagine. We have so many delegates willing to participate and I'm sure as soon as I meet them at their first breakfast we'll have even more. I set up a BlueNC flickr account and will put the better ones there, however I'll do a big slideshow with everything from start to finish after I get home. Christopher has said he would help if he has time, but I didn't realize he was going to work...actually work for a certain congressional candidate. The last thing I want to do is to take his time away from that.

Yesterday when I got off the plane and walked into the main terminal there was a barrier and behind it were DNC greeters holding Obama signs. The pictures I got were after the fact, so you can't see the smiles on their faces and the signs waving. I guess I should have expected it, but it caught me off guard and I even got a lump in my throat. I think that's when it hit me.

Heading out now!

Good morning everyone

Just back from taking Lily to college. So much emotion. I find myself too much in tears.

And now this exciting week ahead. What a roller coaster. _____________________________________

The NC Family Policy Council doesn't speak for my family

awww

Hugs to you, dad. Much much love. The joy that we can share is that at least our offspring chose schools in the same state that we live in, and not across the country!

The first weekend was the worst. And I can actually hear the eyeroll when I call him, even if it's for an actual reason. But he did indicate an interest in being home for his birthday, which is cool.

It's time to get to the top of the Mountain

Let's stand together and defend the working families of NC. "This is the time". We can sing about it but the republican scourge will not sit idly by and wait for our song to end. The republicans want you to work for less. Have no rights at work. Remove safety stops. Stand up and fight....

Has anyone seen Liz?
