Breaking: BJ Lawson scrubbing citizen comments from his blog

After Burr's performance last night, the bar is set very low for Republican hypocrisy. But leave it to free-thinking BJ Lawson, that paragon of honesty and engagement, to delete comments on his blog from citizens who disagree with him. That's right. The man who would be Congressman can't even take honest, open discussions about his positions. More than a half dozen comments were scrubbed from his attack blog last night, comments made by me and others who support David Price. None of the comments were profane or in bad taste. They were respectful, hard challenges to Lawson's own posts.

There are plenty of words to describe BJ Lawson, but the word for today is coward.

After the Price-Lawson debate

After the Price-Lawson debate I asked BJ what had happened to my open letter to him, which I'd posted on his Facebook 'wall' (also posted at

His answer: he'd personally deleted it!!

I was actually shocked, and I should no longer be so shockable.

But he outdid himself. When I asked him to simply answer my questions, he said he didn't have to answer my questions because I'd written that I'd never vote for him!! So, according to Lawson, questions are partisan!!!.

Besta é tu se você não viver nesse mundo

That was my mistake!

I now understand what I did wrong when I ran Zabouti - I tried twice as hard to engage with folks who didn't agree with me or planned to vote for me instead of ignoring them!

Strange reversal by BJ who, in years past at least, was willing to talk to folks who didn't agree with his agenda. A real shame for democracy, a lasting shame for him.
