Connecticut Senate Results

8:37pm
I won't put this on the front page, but I do have the urge to share. With 4% of the precincts reporting in...

Lamont 60% 6,814
Lieberman 40% 4,586

8:45pm
This is cracking me up. Almost every site covering this is stalling because of the high traffic - even sites used to the traffic. It doesn't bode well for information exchange in November. Methinks some folks will need to pay for extra bandwidth come fall.

More below the fold...

Lamont 56.52% 19,591
Lieberman 43.48% 15,072

The gap is narrowing, but at 25% reporting in, I'm not sure Lieberman can pull it off....

All the Tubes is full

tonight. Grrrrrrr.

Plus some butthead is posting pics all over the Kos thread.

Last I saw, it was 57-43, with a report by one guy that the CT radio stations are giving it all to Lamont.

Here's where I'm getting the numbers.

Big cities (Joe's strangleholdstronghold come in late.

12% with 11% reporting

is a good sign for the blowout we need to keep him out of the general.

The world is watching

Over a FireDogLake a commenter from Canada had this to say...it gave me chills...

Every single person who worked hard for Ned Lamont should take particular pride in the fact that hardly a single CT website is functioning well tonight.

They are, each one, overwhelmed with traffic…and it isn’t merely from CT.

The world is watching, hanging on the results as precinct totals dribble in. It has been a long time since America had a political tale this optimistic, a democratic parable this enlightening, or a politician this inspiring.

It seems there’s life in old Liberty yet.

Win or lose, you have changed the rules. Congratulations.

I knew the gap would narrow...but

I really wanted it not to.....same reason you did. Lieberman needs to respect the democratic process.

I wish the followers would lead... With a voice so strong in would knock me to my knees...

Screwy...we're on the same page ;)

literally. I found that early on and haven't had it go down yet.

A - I've been on the losing side waiting for the final precincts. Twice we've come from behind in my mother's races. It's terrible on the nerves, but this is just as bad praying the margin will hold.

I know, SD

My first impulse was to pick up the phone and give you a call.

I foresee a BlueNC conference call in our future.

You can call me anytime

My husband knows that on any...and I mean any election night I'm here watching returns. I watch primary returns from most states...I'm nerdy like that ;)

It's holding pretty steady

If Lamont wins, there'll be a party like the blogosphere's never seen.

If a people-powered movement boosted this successful progressive Democrat into office, candidates and potential candidates will realize that the sky's the limit if you work in the interests of the people.

Scrutiny Hooligans - http://www.scrutinyhooligans.us

...and come to think of it

As Lamont's lead shrinks, I wondered what if Lieberman wins.

And I realized it's almost the same response. There's an energy to be harnessed, and it would have come within a whisker of dethroning a man widely considered to hold one of the safest seats in Congress.

We've got 92 days to whip that energy up into a Kisselly, Shulerly frothy lather.

Scrutiny Hooligans - http://www.scrutinyhooligans.us

no way...

I think we've reached a tipping point in this election. If we lose expect to see people going offline and maybe actually hitting the pavement.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.
-me

thousands of people were hitting the pavement

and many of them were bloggers who went to CT to help. I know several from FDL went and MyDD/Kos had some there.

I assume we're all renting out

the floor of a motel on November 7th, right? Maybe up Ashville way, we canvas all day, we party all night?

I don't know....

I might not be able to travel if John is out of town.... Maybe I'll just tell him he can't go on any business trips. He usually takes election day off so I can work the polls. It's my one request each year.

That sounds good!

Maybe we need to check with Leann at the Kissell campaign to find out when/where we can knock on doors.
