Five Years On: The NC Democratic Party and the Iraq War Resolution

In 2003, Dan Besse wrote the NC Democratic Party's resolution opposing the war in Iraq, the first such move made by a state party in the run-up to the war.

While party resolve on Iraq has been soft at times since, here was a moment, for NC Democrats at least, of courage and foresight.

Nice work, Frank.

Beautiful production, with a message that hits the exact right points and tone.

This is good.

Maybe someone less partial than me can respond.

I think this is a great message from the only candidate in North Carolina that wrote a resolution opposing the Iraq war and saw it passed, before the invasion. Make no doubt that the Republicans will continue to ply their revisionist history after this election.

From today's Hotline:

"War critics can no longer credibly argue that we are losing in Iraq, so now they argue the war costs too much."

-- Pres. Bush, mult., 3/19

We have lost in Iraq. What I posted earlier, 1/5th of all iraqi's now live elsewhere, 100s of thousands dead, neighborhoods walled off, citizens unable to travel freely for fear of kidnapping, torture, and murder. That is losing. That is lost.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Beautiful, Frank.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
