is two minutes of truth. Not quite whining coming from losers, is it Thom?

Who's Representing ME?

It's hard to realize that you probably don't have anybody in the NCGA or the US Congress truly representing you. I am lucky that I have Rick Glazier representing me in the NCGA, Kay Hagan in the United States Senate, and Barack Obama is our president. Isn't that kinda scary? All the people who represent me...and probably you...are outnumbered. The other people who are also SUPPOSED to represent me...Wesley Meredith in the NC Senate, Renee Ellmers in the the US Congress, and Richard Burr in the US Senate don't represent me. We have a governor who cut the pay for the hardworking teachers and just gave his staff big pay raises.

I was at a meeting last night (of course, Rick Glazier was there) about education in North Carolina. The panelists other than Rick were Renada Lewis, an educator from Hoke County; Carmela McKeller, a candidate for the Cumberland County School Board and a concerned parent; Monique Jackson, a concerned parent; and Joe Sorce; a Cumberland County educator. The things they told us were pretty depressing. Why isn't something being done about it? The NCGA is dismantling our schools. Rick Glazier is a former member of the Cumberland County School Board. He told us about programs that were implemented when he was on the board and were working well.. The GA did away with them. Can somebody just tell me WHY???

Meanwhile, yesterday was the 13th annual North Carolina Defense Trade Show. It drew more that 800 members of the defense community. We are a military state and this is a big deal for those of us in the military community. It was hosted by Kay Hagan and Richard Burr, but Sen Hagan couldn't attend this year because of her eye surgery. Who else was there? Clay Aiken...learning all he could. He spent almost all....if not all... of the day in the 2nd District yesterday, listening and learning. Just imagine that?? He LISTENS and LEARNS!! What a concept!!
