Messin' with SasqLocke

I confess: It's fun to poke at the True Believers over in Lockeland.

Dome's Claims Dept.

This is the kind of mischief I drift into when I have a light week.

I should get back to work...

So, what use does the devil make of YOUR idle hands?

Dan Besse

Dan Besse

Well, Dan, you phrase the question well

Because I gather you are suggesting that posting on the Dome is not what one might call a "good" use of said otherwise-unoccupied-hands.

I confess to frequently submitting my idle hands to the devil's purpose when posting on TAP. It's a way of working out some unhealthy aggressions. It's awfully danged easy. Competition for coherent (let alone sensible) statements is not stiff.

But let's both cotton to this -- we're giving waaaaaay too much time to Mr. Spikey-Tail.

Potato chips

Agreed, and it's hard to stop with just one or two. And I've got work to do this morning!

More fun.

I enjoy the courteous skewer, then watching them sputter.

Did you notice John Hood's reference to "name-calling"? It seems the far right is so used to the personal insult game that they see it when it's not there.

Unless, of course, he was referring to my caption reference to "Lockespeak". Perhaps that is an insult, on reflection--but I wouldn't have expected him to acknowledge it as such.

Dan Besse

Dan Besse

Sure.

After all, if I was better read I would agree with his views, right?

The implication that Hood is familiar with my reading list is scary, though. Perhaps he has access to my Patriot Act library records under a special arrangement with the White House.

The Tapping Twins

Back in high school, John and his twin brother David did this tap dancing act called "The Tapping Twins". I guess the practice those many years ago now helps him tap around the truth.

HAR-DE-HAR-HAR

Have you ever heard of a liberal shooting up a church?

Watching John Hood tap dance on Orwell Grave?

Dan, what is "Lockespeak"? Did you intend to compare JLF to Orwell's villains,* John Hood ...tapdancing for Jesus and George Orwell Pope

I had no idea that John Hood was aware that he was working for Big Neo-Con Brother Art?

Are you serious?

Tap-dancing.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hee.

1982 at Independence High School

We had a hell of a year in '82. Myself and the Libertarian Senate Candidate, Chris Cole were seniors that year and John and David Hood were sophmores. Also in our our class was Bob Morgan who would go on to be a Jesse Helms staff member and is currently president of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce.

We had some great political discussions that year.

Have you ever heard of a liberal shooting up a church?

Tap Dancing for Senator Craig by John Hood?

Are you serious?

Tap-dancing.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

" Serious as my last operation! No doubt Dan has proven that John Hood is a thin skin fascist who can't stand for somebody to take over his own private Blog at the N&O. I once took a tap dancing lessons when I was a little boy. I failed after 2 sessions when I told my mother that the class was loaded with sissies like John Hood. The teacher said I would never be able to play sports and date girls."

Lockespeak defined

In response to Mr. Hood's query:

Lockespeak, n. [Southern American English, 2008]. A fallacious conclusion or analysis couched in pseudoacademic verbiage, set out in support of a predetermined policy goal, esp. involving the elimination of environmental regulations or public health and education investments.

I started to post this on Dome, but decided that I didn't want to distract from scharrison's methodical shredding of Hood's substantive arguments regarding oil pricing. If you haven't seen those yet, check 'em out.

Thanks, Dan :)

Unfortunately, probably only a few dozen people will read our debate over at the Dome, while thousands have been exposed to the misleading ad itself. ;/
