Moogfest uninvites Pat

Although Moogfest organizers appear to be trying to be as vague and polite as possible, Deputy Assistant Guvnor Pat's office says that Pat was uninvited to the annual music, technology and innovation festival.

McCrory Communications Director Josh Ellis said in a statement Friday evening that, "It was at the request of Moogfest organizers that we changed our plans to attend this event."

Gee, who wouldn't want the state's governor at their festival?

Shortly after his attendance was announced, local residents organized a protest for during his visit.

Oh. Politics.

Of course, McCrony's mouthpiece blamed the Asheville protesters for injecting politics:

"It's unfortunate that activist protestors are politicizing and negatively impacting an initiative aimed at growing the economy.

Pat would never, ever have made his appearance at a major state event into some sort of political event, of course. It's those protesters who are to blame.

Get used to it, Pat. You're an unpopular governor. You're a symbol of the terrible, destructive NC GOP policies that are destroying this state, and people are not happy about it and they're not happy with you. So when you go to visit them, don't be surprised when you're not welcome.

Here's the best part

They're still gonna highlight the McCrory failures even if Pat isn't there.

A Facebook page put up by protest organizers contains a lengthy list of issues over which they differ with McCrory, including women's health, state regulation of Duke Energy, voting rights and education funding.

A statement on the page Friday from Andrew LaFiosca says the protest around Vance Monument will still be held, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vance Monument.

Ellis's omission

Josh Ellis, the McCommunications guy, is still relatively new to the job, and it shows.

In the statement criticizing the protesters, he left out "leftist" and "fringe". Everyone knows those are NC GOP standards when describing protesters.

Remedial communications school for Josh!
