I was sitting in the local Party Headquarters office yesterday talking to one of the ladies who is a stalwart of the County Democratic Women's Club who told me that many of the members were Clinton supporters and were not going to vote for anyone for President instead of voting for Obama.
These women do not understand what is at stake. The next President will have the opportunity to appoint at least three Supreme Court Justices who will set the tone of the Court for the next thirty to forty years. That's right, the next president will have an effect on your grandchildren and their children. If John McCain is president and reactionary conservative judges become the majority say goodbye to women's reproductive rights, to include birth control, civil rights, workers rights and environmental protections. In fact, say goodbye to FDR's New Deal. Say goodbye to everything that Senator Clinton, President Clinton and other Democrats have fought hard for the past seventy-five years.
The stakes are too high for disunity. We must fight, fight, fight to get a Democratic Congress and President elected this year.
