North Carolina Science Blogging Conference

As many of you know, Anglico and I attended Converge South in Greensboro just days before election day. While there we did some networking and I picked up a few items for our calendar. The below is one of them.

The North Carolina Science Blogging Conference will be held on Saturday January, 20, 2007 in Chapel Hill. It is a free conference and appears to be formatted the same as Converge South in a casual, unconference style.

Please follow below the fold...

I love science, especially if it is watered down so that I can understand it. I imagine there will be plenty to learn even for those of us who can't take our science straight up.

The conference is still in need of donors and sponsors. You can go here

WillR of Citizen Will and Ed Cone of ...um... Ed Cone :) are both on the list of attendees. We don't want them to be the only cool kids at the conference, right?

While the conference is free, it's always a good idea to pass along a small donation if you are an attendee. You can do that in advance here.

If you live in the area and want to volunteer to help you can go here to sign up.
If you want to see the conference program details, please go here.
If you are just nosey and want to see who will be attending, you can go here.
If you wish to donate or sponsor part of the program, please go here.

I'm going to do my best to attend. I think it's a great way to support the community of citizen journalists we have building here in North Carolina. Remember, registration is free and easy.

I had to write this twice.

For some reason my posts are being eaten by the black hole.

I've registered. Who will join me?

Anglico and Robert

left the ship, so I'm going down with it. :)

Durn...wish you could attend, but I'm sure your college life is demanding enough as it is. Actually, I'm on because I'm avoiding doing the shifting and cleaning that it will take to set up my new toy. Dear hubby invested in my blogging by giving me an iMac for Christmas. I have to shift things around to move the old PC to a desk for the girls to use.

oooh

pretty. nice present.

I have avoided the stupid requirement of gym up to this point, but I have a fitness test that morning, which I have to attend to pass the class. And I have to pass so that I can graduate.

I would love to,

But that's the day of the NC Dem State Executive Committee Meeting. I'll be going there. It will be my first meeting at that august group - I will write of my experiences.

Don't you want to go?

Hehe...sorry. It's Sunday morning. I've been up for hours and I'm just bumping this back up on tracking so I don't have to write another story.
