Child rapist killed by parent

Interesting discussion at the Orange Satan. My takeaway? People are animals, nothing more, nothing less. We need to change the name of our species from homo sapiens to homo vandallus.

Destruction is the name of our game. Destroy the earth, destroy our gods, destroy each other.

Certain Libs are really nice humans?

Education reforms won't work, proof here...

When rolling out the Republican Senate's education reform bill in early May, NC Senator Pro Tem Phil Berger praised educational reforms in Florida as did the unusual brochure that accompanied the bill's roll-out. "We are following the reforms in Florida," he said.

Sorry to inform you Senator, but the reforms don't work. Newspapers all across Florida have and are running stories about the huge mess the reforms have caused Florida's K-12 and parents are up in arms, too. http://www.fundeducationnow.org/

The Tampa Bay Times, previously the St. Pete Times, says it time for it to be over. http://www.tampabay.com/...

"Children are crying, parents are obsessing, and educators are sweating."

Berger's Excellence in Public Schools Act establishes an A-F school grading system in North Carolina, too; a system in Florida that has created a $250 million dollar bonanza for a private testing firm. The Act also includes merit teacher pay, doing away with tenure and new reading requirements for third graders and more.

In fact, though slightly modified--most likely for a little political cover from angry Superintendents--Beger's reforms and other bills from last year and in this session all mirror the American Legislative Exchange Council's education task force agenda. A senate sponsor with Berger, Sen.Tom Apodaca (R-Henderson) is a member of ALEC's national education committee:http://alecinnc.wordpress.com/....

Campaign 2012

Even James Carville is worried but he's right. National Democrats seem to think this election is in the bag--not because Obama's tenure has been good--but because Romney is so bad.

Wake up call. Recent polls, including right and left leaning think tanks, have Romney up by two to three points, including among independents. Not a good sign when Romney is now only coming out of the box for the general campaign and the incumbent Obama should be showing stronger. Further, Pelosi and the other national Democrats seem clueless that they are losing this election. When Rachel Maddow recently asked Pelosi how they were planning to fight the Republicans' huge war chest and their dismantling of the public sector unions; who contribute the most to the Democrats, she said "we have Rachel Maddow." Maddow replied "don't count on me."

The Republicans' policies are horrible, but their political strategy is very effective. Their messaging is consistent and wrong--but at least its consistent and repetitive. Romney's money, the now "unified message" of the Congressional Republicans and the Romney camp, and the lack of a unified, coherent strategy from the Democrats could well foreshadow a Romney win in the fall.

Say it ain't so.
