And don't forget Wikipedia

I checked out McCrory's wikipedia page and there's this notice at the top:

This article or section may have been copied and pasted from a source, possibly in violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy.

There's a few parts of it that sounds like it came from McCrory's campaign literature.

With all the attention that McCrory's getting in the national press, some neutral Wikipedia editors need to go in and give it a thorough rewrite.

DAG McCrony notes...

..."them kids helped me get elected. Teachers didn't. Any questions?"

While you're checking starting salaries -

Check other starting salaries:

Police Officer, City of Raleigh: $34,281.59 up to $52,793.64 depending upon experience (link is to a PDF).

Firefighter, City of Raleigh: $32,673 (Fiscal Year 2012)

I realize that these salaries are part of the City's budget, and not the State's. I also realize that depending on the size and budget of the municipality or county, there is wide variance in different Police and Fire Departments across NC.

However, I find it instructive that those we entrust with the education of our children and those we entrust with public safety, indeed, with our very lives, are paid less than these inexperienced governmental aides. It doesn't cost that much to push paper.

Thanks to Hypocrisy NC

For pointing to this photo of DAG McCrony celebrating with his campaign team on election night.

Oh, look who's in the photo, honing their communication skills in preparation for high-paying jobs.

Thanks also to Hypocrisy NC

For getting up a petition.

Honestly it isn't the fact

Honestly it isn't the fact that two young, key members of the McCrory political team got high paying jobs in the administration. It is that they got raises of about 35% of their salary less than a year after getting their position.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Yes!

And in a climate in which DAG McCrony had previously issued a "no staff raises!" directive. Pat and Aldona were first in line when ethics and morals were handed out (and so they held the door for everyone else in line).

If one Googles these gentlemen...

...one finds that

  • Matt McKillip's tweets are protected (you can't see them, only his buds can)
  • Matt McKillip was a key member of DAG McCrony's transition team
  • Ricky Diaz's tweets are not protected. From them, we can learn that he's not fond of President Obama, but he is very fond (as in lips affixed firmly to tushes) of DAG McCrony and Bumbling Incompetent Aldona Wos.
  • Ricky Diaz used to work for Chris Christie, and Ricky thinks Chris Christie is pretty special too.

I guess none of this is surprising. It's mildly interesting.

Of course, when one Googles these gentlemen, the overwhelming responses are about the shocking salary raises they received, and that DAG McCrony, who issued a "no raises!" order, thinks these are just fine (after all, these kids helped him get elected!).
