An orgy of off-track betting

I know I’m not the only person in the world who's disgusted by the resurgence of oligarchy in America. It's always been there, of course. And now it’s on the rise. Witness the clown cars or presidential candidates visiting billionaires in search of favor and funding. Like the venture capital fair at a business school, where each prospectus is valued according to its near-term return on investment:

ROI = (testosterone + extremism) / (intellect x truthiness)

Such a sad state of affairs, this orgy off-track betting. It's an unholy spectacle that will be the death of us.

His approach to governing can be managed in a few minutes a day. Find something good to blow up. Blow it up. Move on.

It's the perfect job when you're spending all your time auditioning.

This is true.

I'm actually surprised McCrory hasn't thrown his stupid hat into the ring. Then again, NC has its own version of the GOP clown car, and if McCrory quit to run a Presidential campaign, God only knows what kind of monster would step up to take his place...
