Poll results and new narrowed polls for Gov. and Lt. Gov.

Poll results are in and the field is narrowed down for the races for Governor and Lt. Governor in North Carolina. While every name isn't included on the list, I included as many as I could and results were still fairly decisive.

Poll for Lt. Governor

Poll for Governor

For Governor, the next poll will pit Lt. Governor Walter Dalton, Erskine Bowles and U.S. House Rep. Brad Miller against each other. Bill Faison has been added simply because he has announced. He did not place in our poll. In the Lt. Govern's race we will have State Rep. Tricia Cotham, State Rep. Grier Martin and Cal Cunningham running.

I'm hoping for a healthy, enthusiastic and well attended primary election. Just don't forget to vote NO on amendment one while you are casting your ballot for your preferred candidate.

A friend emailed me the same concern

She was unhappy and said she wasn't the only one...I guess she was right.

I remember

I also remember having a talk with someone high up on Elaine's campaign staff, and telling this person they needed to unload both barrels against Richard Burr. I told him I could give him reams of data about flip-flopping, lying to his constituents, earmarking Federal funding for out-of-state donors, etc.

I was told "No, we're not going to do that, because we don't have to."

There were a lot of mistakes made in that election, and they weren't all DSCC-oriented.

He has carried the voting in my polls

Grier Martin and Tricia Cotham both have healthy vote totals as well. My initial list still didn't include all of the names of people interested. I guess it is good we have so many.

I found out much too late

That Jennifer Roberts, Chair of Meck Co. Commission, is floating her name. Anyone else hearing of candidates interested in their neck of the woods?

Let's encourage her

I believe the more women running, the better.

I'm still trying to talk Jane into running, but she seems reluctant for some reason. Maybe she's afraid her better half isn't all that great.

:/

Jane would make a wonderful candidate

Her better half is wonderful as well, but I will volunteer to help her better half behave....at least until after the election :)

And bleh to Bowles: 2 time statewide loser

Please, Erskine and party chieftans. If you care about winning in NC, you won't put Erskine in this race.

Bowles is already a has-been with his 2 statewide losses AND he represents everything the electorate is recoiling against right now. He's a multi-millionaire Morgan Stanley director that jacked up tuition at the UNC system and wants to kill Social Security.

Democratic leaders in NC and DC, please keep Erskine out of the race. Erskine is NOT right for the governor's race in this environment.

Agree with usernamehere

Bowles - co-chair on cat food committee (to kill Social Security when it isn't a deficit item -geez), isn't good for any public office nor any committee appointment - period. Just let him fade away - PLEASE

I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle...
John Stuart Mill 1866

No idea if he'd consider it, but

Charles Meeker wouldn't be a bad candidate. Not much state-wide name rec, but I think he'd do well in swingy Wake County and environs.
