Robeson Board of Elections member resigns over yard signs

Yeah, you're not supposed to do this:

Olivia Oxendine, a Republican, said Wednesday she has sent a letter of resignation to the state board. The effective date of her resignation will be the day the state board confirms it has received her letter.

A complaint was made against Oxendine earlier this month. The complaint, heard by the county Elections Board during its Aug. 14 meeting, charged Oxendine with having multiple signs from the Dan Bishop campaign in her yard. Photos of the signs were attached to the complaint charging Oxendine of a violating state law.

I'm not even going to speculate why a Lumbee would be so enamored of a bigot like Dan Bishop. But that alone should prompt a psychological evaluation...

Possible extension for NC03 & NC09?

I wasn't going to mention this until there was a (formal) announcement from the NC BOE, but there's been Twitter talk about taking some steps due to Dorian problems:

FWIW, I doubt seriously they are going to do this, but I don't know what the conditions are like, especially in NC03.

Saturday: County Board of Elections office from 8:30 a.m. to 7p.m.; Tar Heel Municipal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cumberland County

Saturday: County Board of Elections office and East Regional Library from 8 a.m. to 2 p..m.

Robeson County

Friday: County Board of Elections office from 12 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.; All other one-stop sites from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday: County Board of Elections office from 7am to 7 p.m.; All other one-stop sites from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m:

Scotland County

Saturday: County Board of Elections office from 7 a.m. to 7p.m.

Looking for info on NC03, which had considerably more interference than NC09. Stand by...
