Thank Joseph Smith for Mitt Romney

Check out these criticisms of Mitt Romney from an elected Republican in South Carolina, where being employed is much less important than upholding those good ol' Christian values of hate and envy:

“It’s the Mormon thing, that and the Northern thing along with the wealth issue,” said Steve Moss, a retired banker who three years ago became the state representative for the region.

Let's just hope that the rest of the bigots in South Carolina don't catch on and do something sane like vote for Jon Huntsman. If the Mitt Romney train stays on track, the GOP is toast in 2012. Republican turnout in North Carolina's May(be) Primary will be abysmal, just as it will in the November general election.

The wind in the sails of Art Pope's perfect political storm is dissipating under the weight of Republican incompetence in finding an electable presidential candidate, with a healthy assist from Thom "Divide and Conquer" Tillis. I'm hopeful for the first time in months.

OMG, you're hopeful!

Ah, as a pathological optimist, it's so good to see you moving more in the direction of all is not lost. It does look the Republicans are giving the Dems all the ammunition needed to get Obama re-elected.

Barack Obama

is the most electable Republican in the field. None of them can touch him.

I don't think we have to worry about bigots voting Huntsman ...

... for the same reasons they won't vote for Romney: he's also a fabulously wealthy Mormon who, while not Northern, also has the taint of liberalism about him having served as an ambassador for President Obama and, by speaking Mandarin, demonstrating he's educated.

Huntsman

You're so right, James, about Huntsman. Hope it's Romney

Mitt Romney for president?
