Tim D'Annunzio's Christ Complex

Imagine a person so psychologically unstable as to believe the entire world cares enough about his existence to persecute him. Such is the plight of poor Tim D'Annunzio, whose paranoid delusions have propelled him to run for Larry Kissell's seat in Congress.

The coming battle, he wrote, will be against "The wicked (The Liberal Leftist Socialist Democrats and their beast in the news media)."

"They want to destroy you," he continued. "At what point are you going to realize this is a war to the death. This is a fight that is either the end of US [sic] or the end of them. I say it is the end of them and their evil world."

Pretty rich stuff coming from a war-profiteer who made all his money selling stuff to the government he despises. Sounds like he hates women too.

In 1995, he was charged with criminal trespass and other misdemeanors involving a domestic dispute with his ex-wife.

Sick.

Chickenshit

What I found most interesting is the D'Annunzio doesn't even have the strength to stand by his bizarre convictions.

Eventually, the subject turns to his blog. "Christ's War" combines politics and religion, with Biblical references, numerology and end-times theology. He is leery of reporters, whom he has referred to online as "the demon beasts." He warns one against taking his posts out of context.

"What's about to happen," he told the Observer, "is the equivalent of a political crucifixion."

Two days later, he closed the blog to public view.

If he was a Muslim,

raising money with a machine gun social and ranting about coming battles and a "war to the death", Homeland Security would have locked his ass up a long time ago.

I hope they at least have one near-sighted rookie agent assigned to occasionally watch him...

If you want to read more

from his blog, I've got excerpts at the Tavern: http://wunc.org/programs/news/Isaac-Hunters-Tavern/blogging-christ-s-war

I understand he's closed it to the public now, but I pulled some screen grabs before I wrote the entry last week. I may post them later.

Thanks, Laura

You were the first to discover all this madness ... it must have been like tripping into another universe. Did you ever talk to D'Uh in person? That would qualify for hazardous duty pay.

Go read Laura's blog

Here's a sampling of what you could expect from Congressman D'Annunzio.

OK, one example of what I mean. Driving in my truck and thinking that if what I was being shown were true shouldn’t I have holes in my hands, feet and side? The answer came back that with everything else I have been seeing wouldn’t that be an easy thing if it were a necessary thing. My next thought was that no one is going to believe unless they can see and touch the holes. At that moment I had arrived at my destination and stepped out of my truck. Unknown to me there was a board on the ground next to where I stopped. My first step out was onto the board and the 16 penny nail that was in it. It went deep into my foot and at the same time the thought came telling me, I told you it would be easy if it is necessary.

Wack'em him again Lord?

No doubt Tim was getting a message from the Lord. Usually the Lord uses a 2 by 4 against the side of head of a believer to get their attention.....It appears that Tim has not fully recover from that board stabing by the Lord.......

Actually,

I was tipped off to it by Jerimee, so he gets the credit. But yes, I did talk to D'Annunzio a couple of times. He was quite nice about my post, though he objected to my interpretation of his comments. He says he doesn't think it's the End Times. But when I asked him to explain what he meant, his explanation sounded a lot like, well, the End Times, except that he believes in cycles and Ages, and says we're coming to the end of a cycle, not the end of the world. So okay.
