A tiny ripple of Hope

“It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” -Robert F. Kennedy

Running for Congress as a full time school teacher with a family is not easy. In fact, I count on your support and inspiration more than you know. Because this election for North Carolina's 8th District is so important, and you are so important to me, I thought I'd share one decision I made earlier this week I hope will help bring us to victory in November.

I've taken a leave of absence from school this semester to stay on the trail and phone, meeting voters and raising funds full time. It won't be easy as a working person who has to have that paycheck to care for my family, but my family is fully supportive of the decision. We've taken that leap of faith together inspired by the sentiment of that ripple of Hope.

Now, I ask you to join us as we kick off an ambitious low dollar initiative to raise $200,000 in 2 weeks, from good folks like you offering a tiny ripple of hope for a gridlocked and broken Washington. It's telling that my opponent, Robin Hayes, started his recess with his Big Oil friends in Texas, not middle class families in North Carolina. We have to have a change.

We've come so far, and I have so many to thank, I couldn't possibly thank you all enough. But again, I do thank you and hope you'll accept this mission to help me raise $200,000 in 2 weeks to heart. We must keep this ad on the air.

I know I can count on you to give what you can, but I'm also counting on you to speak to your friends and ask them to match you in this cause. And please come volunteer to make calls yourself in the next two weeks, or anytime before the election.

Earning our place on the first wave of Red to Blue candidates did not change who I am. I'm still not rich, I still don't have a Rolodex of millionaires, and I still need your help in running against the 8th richest Member of Congress and the #1 Member holding Oil stocks!

Thank you for all that you do to help take our Country back. That tiny ripple of Hope begins with you.

See you on the trail soon!

Thanks BlueNC!

Why I contributed today...

I heard you on the Ed Schultz show today and was thoroughly touched by your dedication to and concern for our children. I can't imagine how difficult it is to go without a paycheck and run a campaign because you believe in making a difference. Although I'm sure your local district will find it difficult to replace someone with such dedication, hopefully you will be able to accomplish so much more in Congress.

I admire your sacrifice and faith in taking on this challenge, and hope you succeed, for our childrens' sake.

Why I contributed a couple of weeks ago

I attended a fundraiser for Mr. Kissell and was deeply impressed.

You're a terrific candidate, Larry, and you make us all proud.
