What's the best way to handle overcrowded prisons?

Here's your answer: Adopt "Republican logic" and deny bail to people based on ugly prejudices and the illusion of thinking.

The No Bail for Certain Illegal Aliens bill, proposed Monday by N.C. Reps. Justin Burr (R-Stanly) and Pearl Burris-Floyd (R-Gaston), would deny bail for illegal immigrants who are charged with sex offenses, drug trafficking, gang related offenses, violent felony charges, or driving offenses.

Aside from the fact that it's almost certainly unconstitutional, it's also stupid. Just what we need in the middle of a budget crisis ... ignorant legislators proposing misguided legislation that costs a fortune and accomplishes nothing. Driving offenses? Now there's a cause for "no bail" if ever there was one.

Sheeesh.

No doubt these two Nazi want to be Republican idiots have never read the consititution......I am sure the John Locke foundation will want these two bigots as their new and improve retarded Poster boys for the 2010 political races..

Let's hope they are carried off in a food riot in front of Krogers by a bunch of Mexican Bandits in the Taco section by 2010.

Rep. Burr seems interesting...

I don't know that much about him, other than he is 23 (or close to that) and the occupation listed on his legislative page is "bail bondsman." I find it hard to believe that a 23-yr-old can survive on the $13k that the NCGA pays House members, plus his day job when he gets home...

My meandering point is: Isn't there any Democrat in Stanly County who could run against Mr. Burr in 2010? That way it can be two Burrs for the price of one (yes, couldn't resist).
