You Know What Charles Taylor Doesn't Need?

A primary challenge. I mean, he's 'bout to get booted from his chairmanship of the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, even conservatives are starting to notice his shady business practices, his ties to Tom DeLay aren't looking like such a good idea anymore, and Democratic challenger Heath Shuler is kicking his tail in fundraising. If there's a guy in North Carolina who really has enough on his plate already, it's Charles Taylor.

I guess nobody told Highlands attorney John Armor, or else he might have called his column today something besides "Why I Am Running in 2006." Or registered armorforcongress.com. But unfortunately for old Charlie, John Armor can't unring those bells.

Now I can't find where Armor calls himself a Republican candidate, but he doesn't like unions and he's for school vouchers. (He's also for more tourists in the mountains but less traffic on the roads, which is mysterious to me.) And he is a registered Republican.

Sorry Charlie, but when it rains, it pours.

What a nut case.

The whole damn Republican party's turning into a joke.

Actually, I would have rather seen

Shuler running against Taylor. Easy win.

Predictions

It's early, and I don't know more about Armor than what my browsing this afternoon turned up, but I still see a Shuler/Taylor matchup with the difference being that Taylor's going to have to answer hard questions starting a lot earlier in the year.

And he's going to have to loan himself a lot more money.

A Rough Primary

A rough primary battle with Taylor coming out on top would set Shuler up nicely. If Armor should, by some strange series of events, win the nomination, then it's a whole different race.

There's enough writings by this guy to bury him in his own words.

MyDD

anyone notice that MyDD among others give NO Carolina races their thumbs up for a turnover? Not Taylor, not Hayes, no one.
What up?

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Guess they're out of it at MyDD

because Taylor's going down.

I had a long talk with our 4th district congressman yesterday and he's pretty optimistic about Dems winning that seat. As soon as I get some time to organize my thoughts, I plan on doing a diary about that.

Getting snowed in yet?

Snow

I hope we get snowed in. We're prepared for a long day of fun and utter relaxation.

The MyDD list seems incomplete, yes. Maybe we should wave our arms faster?

It hasn't come yet.

It is supposed to come during the day so hopefully we can get out tomorrow.
The kids insisted on going out with me yesterday when it was 25 degrees, brrrrrrrrrrr. They had a blast! Played in the remaining snow, ran over crunchy ground, broke through ice, fell on their butts, all the good kids stuff.

WaPo, MyDD, DailyKos.....

We just have to prove them wrong. Let's give them something to notice. Um...but sorry...I'm busy today.

What about NC-5

Haven't heard a peep about anyone going in against Foxx. That woman is just begging to be thrown out. You heard anything?

I asked this not long ago.

There was a local businessman talking about it, but haven't heard anything lately.

Possibilities

Past posts:
Foxx Dodges Challenger
Possible Challenger

There were others that were lost when we changed software, but the main idea is that there were three considering and now it looks like only Ted Kaplan is a possible challenger (although I may have missed where he dropped out).
