Don't Forget! YDNC Hosts "Saving Our Schools" Town Hall with Larry Kissell

Plan to be in BISCOE tonight!

“Today we will be joined by young teachers, parents and students, to open up the communication lines between our leaders and the community. It is time for young people across North Carolina to recognize the political influence that is theirs to organize and speak out on critical issues like education,” said Melissa Price, Vice-President of the North Carolina Young Democrats.

Please join the Young Democrats at 7 p.m. tonight for our latest in an exciting series of discussions about the state of education in North Carolina. Friend of the blog Larry Kissell will be leading the discussion along with one of our favorite State Representatives, Melanie Wade Goodwin.

“As a teacher, I know the challenges facing our schools should be a priority for all of us and as a candidate for Congress, I know we can’t afford to wait for changes in Washington to save our schools at home,” said Larry Kissell.

Another educator, YDMC President Zack Hawkins, had this to say:

“We hope to recruit young educators, young professionals and young parents with this event. This will be the second of seven such events in our statewide education series. We are excited about this event and look forward to engaging communities around the state on an issue of high priority for Young Democrats and North Carolina.”

These events are not only a great way to meet other Democrats of all ages across the state - they're also a great way to have our voices heard on issues that form the core of a Democratic agenda and a progressive society. Hope you can make it!
