DSCC: Where's Jim Neal?

Click over to some of the other Republicans up for re-election. If there's a declared Dem candidate, you'll find that challenger listed. Look, for instance, at the page with Alabama's Jeff Sessions. And in the case of Ted Stevens, the DSCC even lists a rumored challenger:
Of course, maybe the DSCC just hasn't updated its page to put Jim Neal up there yet. I guess folks could ask them to find out what the deal is...

I just emailed the DSCC with my 2 cents too. I'm not necessarily supporting him yet; although I think he would be a good candidate, I want to see who else may run, but he certainly a serious candidate who deserves to be at least mentioned by the DSCC.

I was sorry to see that you failed to fact check your article on Jim Neal, who is running for North Carolina Senate. In that article you referred to the people's think tank, BlueNC, as NCBlue. Mr. Christmas, this kind of error is unacceptable, especially since we met and chatted for some time on John Edwards announcement tour about blogging. Of course, you were drunk off your ass and hitting on that stripper, so perhaps you don't recall our meeting.
At least I think that was you, I guess I could check my notes, but...naah.

I've seen a few stop the Home Tax signs in the area. Do you think their message is getting through in Moore Co?

Don't think so
Most of the signs I have seen have been in front of realty offices and in front of homes where I know Realtors(R) live. At least in the southern end of the County, we have a huge retiree base that is very focused on the property tax rate. The Realtors argument that the property tax should be raised instead of implementing a transfer tax may just backfire on them.
Of course, we do have some retirees who insist they have already paid their dues on schools when they were working and don't see the benefit of any additional spending on them. I have talked to quite a few of them. Some want parents to pay some kind of tuition for public schools.

I use to think that people with money
were better educated therefore smarter. Now I know that some people with money are just greedy. I think too many of them forget about the underlying premise of America = The Common Good.
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

If they get it right then BlueNC gets more more traffic via google searches. Google NCBlue and you get hits that are not even close to BlueNC, but it's close enough to be able to claim that it was just an innocent mistake.

Good articles across the state today on Neal. All the headlines are pretty positive. I can't believe Christiensen's factual error though. That is inexcusable.
Neal's candidacy is going to be good for this state. I'm a strong believer that the dynamics of this state are changing. Neal's campaign will just be another reminder that the Dem's are still the open and inclusive party.

Yes, although Christiansen's article refers to us as "NCBlue." Not sure if this is his or his editor's mistake -- probably both.
I'm a little wary of how this is getting played. It's undeniably a story that our only serious candidate for the nomination is gay. But we need to put this story behind us quickly. I'd hate to see a Neal campaign where every headline about him included the word "gay," a la this Onion article. Not that it shouldn't be common knowledge, but this should be a campaign about why Jim Neal is going to be a better Senator in the first 90 days than Dole was in six years, not about gay Jim Neal running a gay campaign to become a homosexual Senator.
I expect the frenzy to pass quickly
especially given the matter-of-fact way Jim is dealing with it all. For not being a life-long politician, he sure is a pro.
That said, Liddy's Losers are already gearing up their whisper-and-innuendo campaign to get voters to think that being gay is all that matters. And why wouldn't they? Dole's record is disastrous on every front. She has nothing of substance to stand on except by playing the homophobia card.
More interesting still will be the coverage of the mainstream media - and we'll soon see their true colors.

PS I don't give a rat's ass if the Democratic Party establishment gets behind Jim Neal or not. In my experience (with the Kissell campaign) they are generally too cowardly to take a stand for people who don't drink their kool-aid. That said, I should note that the Democratic Party establishment is at grave risk of losing every ounce of its progressive support. The performance of the so-called Democratic leaders in Congress borders on pathetic on virtually every front.
I, for one, have resolved to refrain from any financial support for the Democratic Party establishment until they start behaving like the leaders we expect.

Sure, That's a 'reasonable' assumption. And maybe, monkeys will fly out my butt...That's about as likely to happen as the DC cubed vetting somebody who doesn't fit into their narrowly defined and
