Eighth District Black Leadership Caucus Endorses Wayne Goodwin for Insurance Commissioner

This past weekend the Eighth District Black Leadership Caucus endorsed Wayne Goodwin to be our next Insurance Commissioner of North Carolina.

The 8th District includes 10 counties: Anson, Cabarrus, Cumberland, Hoke, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Richmond, Scotland, Stanly, and Union.

This strong endorsement of Wayne Goodwin by 10 counties is yet another significant endorsement for the Goodwin campaign. A partial list of his endorsements includes: The Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People, the Raleigh-Wake Citizens Association (RWCA), NC Association of Educators (NCAE), NC State AFL-CIO, the 10th Congressional District Straw Poll (87% support), the Eastern Civic League/First Congressional District poll (approx 9 of 11 counties), The Independent Weekly, many legislators and well-respected leaders in communities all across North Carolina.

"This level of support is just further proof that Wayne Goodwin's campaign is truly a campaign on behalf of ALL people. Voters need to take heed that while Goodwin represents and stands up for them, Goodwin's opponent works for and stands up for the special interests in the insurance industry," said Dick Barnes, campaign manager for Goodwin.

2 billion dollars for Wind Power...so that we can burn domestic natural gas in our cars...I think.

TrueMeckDem on Myers Park Pat

"My opinion of Pat has changed over the years. I used to think he was truly a man of the people but the longer he has been mayor, the less I think of him.

As with most cities, Charlotte has three political parties: Dem, Rep, and Chamber of Commerce. Pat is definitely the puppet of the COC here. What is good for business is good for Charlotte and Pat ... very personable guy, he has gotten a bunch of Dems in these parts to vote for him but I don't trust him."
