I heard that turnout was a little up compared to 08 so far, but no major issues.
I spent most of the day phonebanking and doing other get out the vote so I wasn't at the site itself long, but my husband was there for a few hours. He told one person about their ability to cast a provisional ballot, and gave out a lot of materials, but that was it.
I've been very proud to be Vice Chair of our precinct this year from our pre-primary canvassing to register voters, GOTV, and fight the amendment all the way to today's activities, and Ruth has done an amazing job as Chair. A few flash backs:

Orange Dems meeting (just posting b/c we had a good turnout from Booker Creek at the meeting):
The R's get together for a Duke Energy victory party and their hotel is swallowed in by a rogue time warp that transmits them via wormhole to the other side of the universe where they are found a new theocracy and leave us the fuck alone.
Short of that, Sam Ervin is the only thing standing between King Pope and the illusion of democracy in the Old North State.

Jeanne Bonds report is correct. Because of a technological issues the early vote in Wake County cannot be counted until today's vote is counted. Thousands of votes could change the outcome of some races. Don't go to bed just yet.
Romney continues to hold a lead in North Carolina but national pundits say that unless the Republican wins Florida there is no way he can win the election.
BlueNC is dedicated to making North Carolina a more progressive and prosperous state. If your intention is to disrupt this effort, please find somewhere else to express your opinions.

My daughter in law did some chauffeuring in Chatham County today and can claim two additional votes for Obama and straight-ticket Dems.
My wife and sister-in-law are out doing the same tonight here in Orange.

Angus King ... a left-leaning independent ... going to the US Senate from Maine.
Would like to see more left-leaning independents. They're more reliable progressives than many ConservaDems.

as does the rest of electoral college. At least we'll continue to have a president and US Senate to hold the NC theocrats in check.
Legislative Wipeout
Looks like the Republican gerrymandering plan was a masterpiece of work for them.
By my count, Democrats are now outnumbered 32-18 in the Senate and 77-43 in the House.
Democrats now hold just 36% of the seats in the General Assembly.
