End our 50-year national nightmare now: Vote Obama!

(Here's a letter-to-the-editor that will be printed in my local paper. Permission hereby granted to use any part or all of it in letters to your hometown papers.)

When you vote this Tuesday, I encourage you to vote against William Ayers and the radical political extremism of the 1960s.

Vote against Rev. Wright, Pastor Hagee, David Dukes, Louis Farrakhan, and the religious and racial polarization of the 1970s.

Vote against "trickle-down economics" and the fiscally irresponsible deficits of the 1980s.

Vote against Bill Clinton and the immorality, scandals, and political gridlock of the 1990s.

Vote against George Bush, the Iraq War, the recession, and more-of-the-same McCain.

But it’s not enough just to be against things. You have to stand for something, too.

You can vote to end this 50-year national nightmare that pits us against one another by exploiting our fears.

You can vote for the man who has the know-how and skill to fix the problems that we face in 2008.

You can vote for the person whose campaign is based on the fact that when Americans are united and we put our shoulders to the wheel, there is nothing we can not do.

You can vote for your family’s future. You can vote your values, traditions, hopes, and dreams. You can vote for a better America.

You can vote for Barack Obama.
