Favorite political songs

Over the years there have been some really good songs about politics. What is your favorite? Here are some of the ones I can think of:
My all-time fave: Johnny Cash - The one on the right is on the left (not only a great listen, but it tells a great story, too; Cash at his best)
XTC - Generals and Majors (great anti-war song with a catchy pop feel)
Reflex - The Politics of Dancing (I always got the feeling this was a song about some radical free thinkers trying to stick it to the man)
And, of course, who can forget:
Schoolhouse Rock - I'm just a Bill

Man oh man, I can't think of any.
Warren Zevon?
Well, I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too
I was gambling in Havana
I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money
Dad, get me out of this
I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck
Between the rock and the hard place
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
And I'm down on my luck
Now I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The shit has hit the fan

Patti Smith

Progressive Democrats of North Carolina
One song jumped instantly to mind

Here's another one
It's not as overtly political, but man, what a message...

Creedence Clearwater Revival
Quite a few......Just about my favorite band of all time. Fortunate Son makes me think of Bush and our current lot of Republicans.
That's one that I was thinking of Betsy, but I think it was
actually written about Al Gore! I'm not sure, though. That might be urban legend.
My taste in political songs run from Arlo Guthrie (Alice's Restaurant) to Rage Against the Machine. (Killin' in the Name) Not sure I can post the RATM lyrics here.

Yeah....it's urban legend
It was written in protest about the draft in general.....at least from what I've read.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
I still get weepy at this verse of America The Beautiful
It might not seem like it from things that I post sometimes, but I love this country. I wouldn't work so hard at this politics thing if I didn't. When I think about "patriot dream" - I think about those men more than two hundred years ago who sat in gatherings like we were in yesterday, in people's homes, or in taverns, and talked about their dreams, their hopes, and they made it happen. (I'm sitting here welling up just thinking about it.) The risks they took!
Maybe someday we will have brotherhood from sea to shining sea. That's my hope. (Linda is getting all squishy now, so she must sign off.)

Abraham, Martin and John
for starters. That was by Dion, I think.
But Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" would be a pretty strong favorite for me.
From "HAIR," just about every song.
Guess I wuz a chile of the sixties all right~
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing
-Edmund Burke
A Song of Peace
it's really a great hymn but to me, (and Cindy Sheehan) it also works as a great protest song:
Here's a nice video to go with it:
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
