Five reasons to get involved in state legislative races

Short synopsis:

Five reasons to get involved in state legislative races:

1. The 2010 census looms.
2. Many policy matters are determined at the state level.
3. Getting progressive Democrats elected to state legislatures will build our bench for future House, Senate or gubernatorial races.
4. You probably can find a competitive statehouse race near you, no matter where you live.
5. Your individual actions are more likely to make a difference in a statehouse race.

It's great reading and a good pitch on why state house and senate races are so important.

NC Battleground State House and Senate Races

Anyone looked into getting a North Carolina state-wide list together? I know we have many challengers out there with good chances this year, and some freshman who won in 2006 who may be in tight races. Many of these contests (including my own) have received great coverage here on BlueNC, but it might be useful to pull the big picture together on NC Legislative races.

Gosh, Ed, I'd love to...

But the Republicans down here (NC House 14 and 15 and NC Senate 6) don't have anyone running against them...

Not much of a way to be involved in that.

The races for Onslow County Commissioner is what I'm focusing on...Nothing else really matters down here.
