For what?

From a friend of a friend in Lebanon:
You will all have to excuse me for sending this. It's pictures of the bodies of babies killed by the Israelis in South lebanon. They are all burnt.
I need your help. I am almost certain these pictures won't be published in the West, although they are Associated Press pictures. I need your help exposing them if you can. The problem is these are people who were asked to leave
their village, Ter Hafra, this morning, within two hours, or else.So those who were able to flee went to the closer UN base where they were asked to leave. I think that after the Qana massacres in 1996 when civilians were bombed after they took chelter in UN headquarters, the UN does not want to be responsible for the lives of civilians.
A FEW MINUTES AGO, the Israeli asked the people of Al Bustan village in the south to evacuate their homes. I am afraid massacares will keep happening as long as Israeli actions are unchecked. Please help us if you can.
Welcome to Bushworld.
PS Sorry for the bad photo link earlier, not sure what I did wrong. Should be fixed now.

Sorry.
But we must understand the consequences of our actions ... and our inactions.
i cant understand
how the United States is diplomaticly standing on the sidelines. this is the true face of Republican goverance.
Be just, and fear not.
"We Won't Play if We Can't Win"
Someone in a foreign diplomatic corps I heard in an interview, talking about our failure to talk to Iran and Syria: "Talking to your enemies is kind of the definition of diplomacy."
To be fair
War is an atrocity full of atrocities. No matter whose dead body lies there, it's a time to grieve for the victims and search for a path to peace.
With events developing so quickly, it's hard to know what turns the several conflicts will take. My first response is Stop Shooting, but when you're under fire will you think the same thing? Fighting wars requires profound courage, and stopping them requires as much of the same.
Its a good time to...
un-elect the democrats and republicans who voted for war
start loving your neighbor no matter what
start speaking out
love everyone around you
make peace a political issue
ask for more than apologies from politicians who voted in favor of the war in Iraq
reject racism of any kind
never forget
Be so disgusted by that picture of a dead child that you do SOMETHING.
[[ These are by no means commandments or words of wisdom. They are serious actions WE HAVE TO TAKE to improve this world. The immediate results are not always forth coming, but they can create lasting change. I love writing on blogs but we're in a time of action now... ]]
Brian nails it
This is why the Shuler and Kissell races are so very important. As long as Republican War Profiteers control our government, the case for conflict will support their economic self interest.
GRRRR...I'm so angry!
Can someone please explain to me when is an "appropriate" time to go in and try to negotiate a cease fire...or some kind of peace here?
I have heard rice say a number of times when asked when she and the US will intervene...her answer: When it's an APPROPRIATE time! She goes on to state that they want to make sure it's a LASTING peace.
So what makes me angry is, are they stalling? Is the bush admin allowing all these innocents to be killed UNTIL THEY CAN GET EVERYTHING THEIR WAY?
Are they not going in at all to try to save as many innocents as possible until it looks like the whole region will change? WHAT? I DON'T UNDERSTAND! Why can't a partial peace process be negotiated at least to stop the shooting and bombing? Why is it all or nothing?
Oh, and the OTHER thing that makes me angry is this "poser" on CNN, kera phillips, just another republican mouth piece...."you heard Sec. Rice, America will intervene when it's appropriate"....damn her and CNN....INTER-F*CKING-VENE....ASAP....NOW....SAVE AS MANY LIVES AS POSSIBLE! Damn! (ok, sorry for the language, but what are these fools doing to us....to our Great Country....to our world-wide standing?) pffftttt!
Angry
That's the price of watching CNN. I had to give it up ... about a year ago. It was driving me nuts. Liberal media my ass. More like lapdog Bushbots.

I sent this photograph with this note to a group of friends:
"Below is the body of an unidentified child in Lebanon killed by an Israeli attack. How often must this be repeated across the world before it stops? How often must someone wail with grief – American, Israeli, Lebanese, Iraqi? Even though I disagree, I do understand that sometimes war, as a last resort, may need to be waged. But like this? Wouldn’t it be better if we found a way to solve our problems differently? Apparently the world is flatter now, which makes it much harder for our children to hide from such evil. I’m so sorry I felt compelled to share this. It came from this site, which is a progressive NC politics site: http://www.bluenc.com/node/3026. Please read this site if you believe in democracy."

Photograph is in this week's
Newsweek. At least, it made it into print to a wider audience. We might become battle-hardened toward pictures of wailing mourners. We've seen so many in the past three years, afterall. How can anyone not feel sadness and anger at the sight of the blown-up body of an innocent baby. This should be framed and mailed to every warmonger in Washington.
