Foxx Fire

As the editorial section of the post stated, “Few would have predicted in the awful days after Sept. 11, 2001, that just seven years later, members of Congress would actually be considering legislation to make the nation’s capital harder to protect.”

McCain's 'Truth Squad' to counter attacks on Palin includes Foxx, Myrick

Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up...this bit of Truthiness landed in my inbox from the folks with only a casual relationship to the truth, the RNC and the McCain/Palin camp. Note the lack of prominent Republican women (or men for that matter) on this list (where's Kay Bailey Hutchison?) ; this was the best they could scrape up. I'm not surprised that GOP tool Virginia Foxx, is on the list, and as far as fact-checking goes, Sue Myrick’s from NC, not FL.

MCCAIN-PALIN 2008 LAUNCHES TRUTH SQUAD TO COUNTER ATTACKS ON GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN

ARLINGTON, VA -- With today's Wall Street Journal report that pro-Obama Democrats have "airdropped a mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers into Anchorage" to dig for dirt on our vice presidential nominee, the McCain-Palin campaign today launched the Palin Truth Squad to counter recent attacks on Governor Sarah Palin, her family, her friends and her record of accomplishment. The Palin Truth Squad will set the record straight against Internet and liberal smears of Governor Palin.

"We're proud of Governor Palin's leadership in Alaska and record of taking on entrenched special interests and the good old boys network," said former Governor Jane Swift. "Governor Palin's commitment to reform is well-known but there are those who would seek to distort that record with vile rumors and smears against her, her husband, her children and her friends. We will not allow those on the left and in the media to smear a woman who has always served her constituents with honor. We know the truth and are committed to ensuring it as well."

In the event of false attacks, rumors and smears against Governor Palin, the Palin Truth Squad will issue alerts and statements to voters and the media to set the record straight. Additionally, the Truth Squad will be available to respond to inquiries from the media.

National Members Of The Palin Truth Squad:

· Former Governor Jane Swift (R-MA)
· Governor Linda Lingle (R-HI)
· Lt. Governor Sean Parnell, (R-AK)

Lying Liddy Dole compares Kay Hagan to a dog

It's shocking when one woman refers to another as a dog, no matter how subtle the reference. It isn't surprising to see Elizabeth Dole lying to save her sorry hide, but it is shocking to see her comparing Kay Hagan to a dog.

In the ad the narrator claims, "That dog won't hunt." Unfortunately for Liddy, the ad firm used a breed of dog that is actually quite good at hunting. As a matter of fact their known for hunting foxes and...um...rats.

Shameful!

This is truly shameful. If there were any lingering thoughts that Vietnam vet and POW John McCain was a man of honor (a term, by the way, which he struggled to define in a recent Time magazine article ... now we know why), the latest McCain-Palin campaign ad criticizing Obama on education should put those notions to rest

Time to come clean, Pat McCrory

Tonight in the WRAL debate, Mayor Pat McCrory said of the guys who work around his house installing floors: “these people frankly make more money than I do.” Which raises this important question:

How much money did Pat McCrory actually make working at Duke Energy?

As far as I know, McCrory continues to refuse to disclose his personal financial statements. No one except for his handlers knows how rich he's gotten as a pusher for Big Oil. So unless he made less than $20 or $25 an hour at Duke Energy, he's either pulling a Pinocchio, or he's paid his floor guy a boatload of money to keep quiet about something.

What's the deal, Pat? How much money are you paying your floor guy? And is it really more than you made as a career executive at Duke Energy? If not, what the heck is going on? Do you stretch the truth at the drop of a hat just to score political points? Are you another Sarah Palin "maverick" who's never met a lie she couldn't tell?

It's time to come clean, Pat McCrory, We demand it.

Day 56: Dole leaves teachers out to dry

DAY 56

On the campaign trail in 2002, Elizabeth Dole made empty promises to support tax deductions for teachers and other incentives such as signing bonuses. But once Dole got to Washington, it’s like the teacher had left the room. She voted against extending teacher tax deductions, against loan forgiveness for teachers, and against funding teacher quality programs that would have significantly enhanced North Carolina classrooms. If you think answering to one teacher is tough, how does Dole plan to answer to the some 90,000 North Carolina teachers who lost their tax deductions so that the wealthiest Americans could enjoy tax breaks?

Read the entire post to read more on today's reason on why Elizabeth Dole is wrong for North Carolina and check back for updates over the next 56 days.
