GOP approval rating among Republicans falls to 36%

The Republican-controlled legislature also suffers in the court of public opinion, with 56 percent of voters disapproving of the job being done by state lawmakers. Democratic voters are especially displeased with the General Assembly, with just 10 percent giving that body a positive rating, while 20 percent of independents approve of the legislature. Jim Holshouser

Jim Holshouser died this morning, according to his longtime personal secretary.

He was Governor long before I moved to NC. But from all reports, he seemed to be a fairly moderate guy in a state that was seen as a "business friendly progressive" state.

Not much word yet out of Art Pope's kingdom.
